The shops I talked to said it's best to wrap the foam. If you are going with the high dollar super fast dry wicking foam you may not need to wrap it.

A few things I done to keep my front seats viable over the years.
1st was under on the bottom was to add apx 15 screws with compression washers around the edge where the fiberglass back meets the wooden bottom.
2nd I glassed the inside of the bucket where the wood bottom and fiberglass meet.
3rd When the wood on the bottom started to deteriorate and the mount started to push thru I sandwiched the wood between 2 peices of aluminium cut in a pattern to match the wood bottom. I had a couple of large old street signs to use that worked perfectly. And I used a sawsall to cut them.
All this has been a few yrs ago and there as firm as the 1st they were built and I "check" at 265lbs now days also and love the bigger water. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
This past spring I put in a new interior and actually built up the backs of my buckets apx. 1 ft. to make them look like high back racing buckets
