Mate don't usually do many actual exhibits. They usually rely on their dealer network to represent them at the different shows.

I will be going to the show again this year, this time actually looking to purchase a new boat!!!

I always get a few extra tix thrown my way from a couple of marina operators I know well, so again, anyone living in Canada I would be happy to mail you a ticket or two -at no cost obviously! We'll call it a Christmas gift!! Just let me know if interested.

What are you looking at buying BP?

Hey Chris, hope you had a Merry Christmas, and everyone else too for that matter!

I won't be buying a Checkmate, I am still way too happy with the one I've got!

Looking to trade in a 1991 (or maybe even '92)22' Searay on a new 22' Chris Craft Launch. I love the new styles that Chris Craft have introduced and would like it to compliment the Checkmate. We want a nice cruising family boat, but will wait for the right price.

I will def. be taking a gander at the Lake and Trail display though. I will send ya the pics that I take of the Mates at the show to post.

Funny enough, I'd really like a Chris Craft Speedster. I eyeball them all the time. Pirate Cove in perth has one on the Auto Trader right now. No price is listed though. Those things are really kewl looking, I love the retro style. They are by far the best looking family I/O's on the water. After Checkmate of course. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Merry Christmas to you too BP. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Nice looking boats, but for the PRICE you can get a lot more boat with other brands. The chris craft line is overpriced imho

Chris
12-26-2005, 06:45 PM
Maybe, but they really have a cool look to them. And they'll do 60ish with a small block, which is pretty good.

They're expensive though!

I love the retro, James Dean's Porsche look to the Chris Craft....I test drove the Speedster (had it alone actually for a few hours - dealer's a friend of mine) and it is great but still a bit small....the windshield only comes up to your chin, if you're lucky, and the wind is too much....it's also just a bit too small for any bit of choppy weather as I discovered...the 22' Launch with a Merc 320 is a beauty, 60mph for some zip and a perfect cruising boat....we'll see what happens at the Show I guess....

The Daytona Beach, Fl. boat show is in a couple weeks. I'll be taking 4 new mates and a bunch of Liberator tunnel boats there. There's not a single sportboat or performance boat dealer at the entire show. Nothing but white fish boats, cruisers, and Dorky bowriders. Hopefully I'll sell a few. This is my first boatshow, and my first year selling Checkmates.

Good luck Wildman! If you're the lone hot boat provider, then you'll attract a crowd!

A crowd is good. A crowd with money is better.

Wildman, Are you doing the Miami Show in Feb? I'm headed down for a week and catching the show Thursday and Friday.

Anyone else going?

WILDMAN

I'll probably go Sat.-Sun. I would never put boats in it though. A friend of mine paid $6000 to put one boat in the very back corner of the parking lot. And that was 5 years ago.

That would have had to be one heck of a boat to see any ROI http://checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/irked.gif

Guess I'm missing another Toronto boat show... http://checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/brickwall.gif
($150 and 6-8 weeks to get one... http://checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/zx11pissed.gifB.S. http://checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/sick.gif

Black Pulse... I know of a certain beautiful 22' Chris Craft (mine), too bad it's a 1947!!!
I guess some day I'll bite the bullet, cash will talk, and part with it for another go-fast someday??? Those new C.C's are serious "eye candy" but carry a healthy $$$$$ as well! There's a whole bunch of them around here... Jim.

Hey everyone,

I am heading to the TO show tomorrow afternoon and have a quick question. I am looking at getting a new boat, either a 22' Chris Craft or a ZT 219. How much would a ZT 219 (in Canadian $) cost, say mated to the 300 or 320 MERC? Any rough ideas?

I was disappointed that there are no Checkmates whatsoever at the TO boat show this year....closest you will get to seeing a 'Mate there this year is on the board at Lake and Trail's display showing a picture of a used one in stock!!

Dave,

Any updates on the '06 Merc 25's?

From the sounds of things, you can still get the 2 stroke or the new EFI.

Let me know. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Wildman.

I'm looking at a 25 HP.

I've seen 2006 Classic 2 Stroke 25 HP motors for sale.

I've also seen the new 25 HP EFI on the Merc site, although I haven't seen a price anywhere.

Chris, look at the top of the page that you gave as the efi model, and you will see that it is a four stroke

It's lighter than they old bigfoot model and it's an EFI that you can rope start and doesn't need a battery. It's pretty kewl! The question is HOW MUCH! Nobody has told me yet. If it's too expensive, I'm going to buy a 2 stroke. What I'm not going to buy is the old bigfoot 4 stroke. They're way too heavy and I don't particularly like 'em. The new EFI model looks really kewl. That one at the right price I might buy.
