Alright, I'm in the process of replacing my carpet and I'm completely clueless on what brand and weight to look for.

To make matters worst I need to find a medium to dark brown carpet.....it seems like there are not alot of brown color choices out there.

When looking for the weight is it better to go heavier? and if so will I have trouble with glueing over tight (or sharp) turns?

Also, can I buy any type of exterior carpet glue for this job?

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Check out West marine.com....They have a good selection.Or just search online under marine carpet and there is an endless supply available.Sometimes its nice to have an upolstry staple gun to secure the carpet in those tough spots. And yes there are a bunch of exterior adhesives you can use too.

You need to make sure you only get marine carpet. It has a flexibility that is necessary to follow the contours unique to a boat. You can use the indoor/outdoor carpet glue(Roberts) they sell at Home Depot. I've done two and needed no staples or other fasteners, and the first one has lasted 15 years so far. Home Depot also has a very reasonable carpet called Fish & Ski, but it only comes in charcoal.

Yeah......I tried that.....but they do not have anything in brown.
I finally found the color I need from a manufacturer call Syntec. They carry a nice 20oz carpet. Their price seems a little high......$11.50 per sq. yd. but what can you do.
