Hoping to receive my plate tomorrow, Plan on pulling motor in next few days. Has anyone ran into not having enough cable from Checkmate stock rigging to add the 6" hydraulic plate? Boat is 186 Pulse. Thanks!!

Heres some words of encourgement my starflite came with a 6 cmc hdy plate. Then I was able sqeeze in a 10in bracket between the jack and transom with out swapping cables. Its tight but I'v been running that way for 6-7 yrs without any trouble. You can see my set up on the 2nd page of pic this.4th thread down last pic. The cables come at a steep angle but no proplems. merc245

Hi there, I just installed a 6 inch plate on my 92 Pulse 170 and as JW mentioned, just had enough to spare.

Take a look at the cable run from the back (inside) and you'll be able to see just how much slack you have to work with. Chances are you'll have enough !!

Everything is done!!! Cables were long enough but when I run the plate up they get real tight. Also my steering has always been REALLY stiff. Is this normal?? Dual cable system...
