Boy if I had 10 Tempest they would be sold,the phone rang and the e mails rolled in.I never new that the demand for a good used prop was so high.

Tempest Plus is the hot ticket for the 19' and over Checkmates ever since Mach went out of business. Laser II is the hot ticket for the 18' and under 'Mates.
Send that Tempest out to a good prop shop for blueprinting and you'll like it even better!!

thanks JW...I was looking at it last nite next to a laser II...it has bigger blades so I figure it will lift up the front better...it also has different ventilation holes...once I test it...I'm sending it out and getting a jack plate...

Haven't tried it out yet...busy working, but I'm going to on Saturday...getting the boat windshield tinted also...I'll be up for a week so that will give me plenty of time (of course I always break something)...picked up a 6 hp 1963 merc from orginal owner...still has owners book, etc...all mint. I'll let you know , and thanks again.

got back this weekend...the prop ran great. when I took the old prop off, I saw what I had on...it was a michigan 24" pitch x 14-1/4" dia...the new 23" tempest ran a lot better. By going down 1" in pitch I picked up 200 RPM...it now runs right at 6000 WOT but I picked up3-4 MPH on my boat spedo (no gps)..I guess that the bigger blades of the tempest combined with the higher revs gave it more speed. This is the first time I have gone down in pitch and got more speed...65-66 WOT @ 6000 RPM not to bad with my body weight (280)...when the spedo went past 64 I knew that this was a lot better...it also goes a lot better from 40-60...really made a difference. Thanks alot...Tom
