I can see from the pictures that this is the boat that you guys experimented with the step going across the entire width of the stern rather than just a small section like mine is. What improvements did you see with this design? Will Checkmates of the future incorporate this into other hulls as a standard?

Hi all, and Kip the boat is running great. The boat is running a 502 MPI with a stage 3 procharger. GPS 79 MPH with a 28 pitch blueprinted prop with a ZX drive. Want to try a 30 pitch. Done well on the local poker runs.

Thanks Chris for the welcome, and thanks for posting the boat. Will try to get some action shots this weekend and send them in. Great site you have here and seems you have the support of Checkmate, that's great.

Vinny......the 300 is the only boat we did the notch (what ever you want to call it)....across the hole transom. It picked up about 5 MPH ! We will do some more R & D to see if is something we can use with other hulls! It worked out great on this hull because it's a dual engine hull that we put an insert in the mold to get the notch .....for high HP singles. Worked out great!

Kip,
Thanks for the reply. Keep up that R&D..

Guys how could you tell from those pics? You can't really see the transom.

That's right. All the way at the stern by the base of the stripe you can see a notch in the hull. I have also seen some pictures of this boat posted on offshoreonly.com Those pictures were close ups of the notch.

Nice boat Ji Su HO. We have the same boat, same colors and all! We don't have the step added to ours.....they just put another motor in it http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I haven't figured out if that is good or bad yet http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
Can't figure out how to post a picture either?? or I would add it.

Yeap, I'm really happy with the boat. I sent Chris some pictures in the water last weekend but he hasn't posted them yet. When you send your pictures to Chris, give some details on the power (twin 6.2's? or better) and the performance.

I CAN ATTEST TO WHAT A GREAT BOAT THIS IS...I DID THE INSTALL ON THE PROCHARGER AND TESTED IT AT DELAWARE DAM WE SAW 82 ON GPS (BEST SPEED)BUT CONSISTANT 80 MPH(TWO PEOPLE/HALF TANK FUEL)
THE 30 P 4 BLADE WAS A LITTLE FASTER(82 MPH)BUT THE 28 IS A MUCH BETTER ALL AROUND PROP.
VERY IMPRESSIVE BOAT.

hey jason ,,,,,, how much hp did that supercharger add to that otherwise stock ? 502 ?
Ji Su Ho

Sorry for the late response, the extra gauges include trim tab indicator, fuel pressure (for the procharger) dept finder, clock, Fire supression system indicator, and your other standard gauges. It's getting warm down here and we have a baja poker run coming up this weekend (17th April) Several checkmate owners are going out to play.

Bob, I will try to answer the question on additional HP with the procharger. I could be corrected but I believe you can expect a 40% HP increase which would be pushing pretty close to 600 with a 502

ji su ho ,the boat is gorgeous ! there's a lot to be said for just letting the people that build it do it their way ..

Thanks Bob for the compliments. I do agree with the manufacturer doing all the work. I was at the dealership when the boat arrived. I knew I would own it some day. I had a 220 Convincor at the time so I tryed to sell it all summer (live in a small town) with no luck. Finally talked the dealer into taking mine in trade. It was worth the wait.
