Hello,
I need help getting my brothers v-mate running.He has a 1978 mercury 1150(115hp)with thunder bolt ignition.The engine cranks but will not start,there is no spark.I have a factory manual that has good wiring diagrams on this ignition system but shows no values or flow charts. All the manual tells you about the ign system is that it needs to be checked with a mercury thunder bolt ign tester. http://checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/brickwall.gif
Can any one help me diagnose this problem? Can a volt/amp meter be used to inspect this ignition system?
