How is everybody's summer going. I can tell you mine is going great. Havn't been in a Checkmate this year, which is about the only downfall. I've got lots of water-sports in (like 2-3 times a day, mostly slalom skiing). I still like driving my Aluminum boat with 40 Mariner, with an occasional 90 MPH plus Venus ride. Hope all of you guys are having as much fun as I am. Have a fun and safe summer! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Having a great summer, working to many hours, mate is still a long way from being done. Just spent a week in michigan, spent the day with JW, got my need for speed fix. What a great day. Thanks again JW.

Summer is awesome, weather has been too up and down though!! I have 45 hours on the Mate already! I do not understand how people can own boats for 4 or five years and only have 30 hours on them. Ran her out of gas once already too. I donot know if it is the sending unit or the gauge that sucks, but my friend with the new Velocity and same gauges I have had the same problem. Can't believe it is July already!

Well, my summer has mostly been work so far. My commercial sales guy left at the end of April, which is the start of the busy season. We didn't really have time to replace him, so I've been working the commercial desk myself, which I guess was a pretty good idea, because our sales doubled in June. Needless to say I've been busy as heck though. I've been pulling 12-14 hours days Monday-Friday.

I've only had the mate in the water once so far. I've been mostly resting on weekends and the weather hasn't been very condusive to waterskiing. We did do a little last weekend behind the old Grew and we had planned to put the mate in the water this weekend, and of course it's pouring rain this morning. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

C'mon down here Chris... It has been ungodly hot with way too much humidity. Have to wear shoes on the sand so not to burn your feet. The river is up to 84-85 degrees Farenheight already! Not complaing, thaat is why I boat, so I do not have to sit in the air conditioning at home!

The weather has been pretty condusive to fun, fun, fun, I've just been too busy to enjoy it. We typically take 3 day weekends during the summer months when possible, but being short handed that has been impossible. It's good to hear your enjoying the new boat though! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I remember the word, and I think thats the time of year we all get the mates out, shine em up,and have fun, right? Then why does it keep raining? This has been one of the worst summers for boating in the Ohio river that I can remember. If and when the sun does shine the river is up and full of junk. Not good for boating if you like your boat.Maybe I could get a baja to use as a beater, kinda like a work car,and take the REAL boat "CHECKMATE" out on the good days.I,ll quit whining now.Glad I found this site. It's good to get to hear everyones storys about all them Mates. If it wasn't for that I'd really be goin crazy :mad2

I've skiied/kneeboarded/wakeboarded/slalomed so much this summer. I usually do 2-3 (sometimes 4-5) different runs per day. We basically got all new gear for everything (sweet slalom ski for sure) so its soo much fun. Drop on by sometime and we'll show you skiing. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif I'm kidding, I'm sure you know how to ski better then I do, although I am pretty good... http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
