Hi there,
I am experiencing a problem with my opti, it takes too long to to get out of the hole (15-20 sec) and I can't get over 5000 rpm's, the air and fuel pressure looks fine and the ECM tells me zero faults, this engine is year 2000, on 2003 get repower it ran very good and has 50 hours on it, but suddenly it lose power, I've had this problem over the past year and a friend of mine experienced this same problem last weekend, his engine is a 2002 opti. I have cleaned several times the fuel system with automotive injector cleaning, putting it in the fuel filter and running the engine, but it didn't work, if an injector is clogged the check engine light has to turn on? I have changed the spark plugs once and nothing, maybe the spark plug wires?

Have any suggestions?
Thanks a lot.

Pull each spark plug and check for spark. Sounds like you're missing a couple cylinders.

a few things...if you have a ddt.. do a cyl drop test.... that will help find a dead cyl... optis will run damn good on 5 cyls...& loose a little rpm 500- 1000... If you do a spark check make sure the wires are grounded to the block.... take the water filter off & drain it in a clear jar.. look for water... is your battery a 850 cca or better is it good ,, are the nuts loose,,,.... that is about all you can do with out the ddt or cds ,,,, kurt
