I think the tint only looks good on certain piant jobs, and only if the windshield is low profile. (which yours is) I am also torn on if I should tint my predictor or not.

Should you tint it or not? I think it looks better without tint. But thats just my opinion and that doesnt stand for much. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Adam, your (everyone's) opinion is what I am looking for. I have always like the tinted look but I can't decide if it actually looks better on my color scheme. I appreciate your input.

My neighbors' Starflite looks great with tint, probably weird without it.

Mine is tinted and it looks great. The only thing is it is a bit dark but it really doesnt matter because most of the time I am looking over it anyways. I plan on tinting the sportfire aslo.

I like the tint also, but on your boat, I think the untinted looks better.

With your colour scheme, I prefer it Without Tint.

I am still undecided... I keep leaning both ways.

The responses on S&F were Tint. tint, tint. tint...

If the framing was nude aluminum (like the other pics posted) it may look better...dunno.

Thanks for the feedback fellas.

I love them tinted, makes them look sinister, The dark frame is all the better.

I like the tint. Mine is going to get tinted. The frame is also going to get a coat of black.

Rob,

To create a poll. Just click the new button and then choose poll instead of discussion. You then can have up to five options.

Try it in the board feedback if you like. Call it test poll and see if it works. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

i think usualy on lighter color boats no tint, but since u have black molding i like the tint , just make sure its not a cheap looking purplish black that ya sopme times see. i will be tinting mine as well.

I think your boat looks good either way. It's more about how you feel about it. Make sure you post your FINAL decision.

anyone have any suggestions for tinting? i was thinking about doing mine but not sure how, I have done cars before but but my boat windshield is different, it has rubber seals on all the edges where it meets the frame and I wasn't sure how to get it to fit that without screwing it up. shane

If you take the glass out and do it on a table or flat surface it will be alot easier. the tint shouldnt mess up the fitting.

Definitely remove the glass! then you don't have to worry about getting all the edges that may show. As long as you're careful when you place it back in the mount rails it should look PERFECT!Originally posted by Boston Predictor:

Unfortunately I have a LONG time to make up my mind. I won't see the boat again until July or August when I take my vacation. I am in Tucson, AZ and my mate lives in Pelican Rapids, MN. My plethora of pics helps me to cope... http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

hmmm, not sure If i can do that, the windshield frame is all riveted together, I would have to drill out the rivets and then re-rivet it back together, i don't have the proper tools, nore have I ever done that.

mate lives in Pelican Rapids,

Was that frost on the deck of your Mate ?
We usually dont see "flat" water like that until the summer is long gone.

Yes sir it is. My maiden voyage with her was COLD! but worth it. I did not see another boat the whole three days I was up there. It was SO peaceful, it was sad to leave.

I PERSONALLY LIKE TINTED GLASS. MY CHECKMATE NOW HAS TINTED GALSS AND I LOVE IT. BUT MY PREVIOUS BOAT HAD THE HIGHER WINDSHEILD AND I THOUGHT IT SUCKED, IT SEEMED TO BLOCK ALOT OF MY VEIW SPECAILY TOWARDS EVENING. SO I GUESS IF YOU HAVE A LOW WINDOW THEN TINT ALL THE WAY.

I have an Exciter w/low profile windshield chrome frame and I finally tinted it after about 10 years. Now that it's done I dont know how I waited that long to do it. The boat is flake red w the silver spear up the deck.
