i found a 1978 16 foot on ebay
does anybody know the difference between this hull and the 1980 16 outboard
the 80 had a pad but the 78 looks like it does
not
help!!
i want to bid on this boat but not sure how it will handle how fast what kind of power does it take?????

Looking at the pictures of the boat it looks like a trimate 2. Same as what I have.
Great handling boat. Runs well with a 200hp 2.4 merc. Needs a jackplate to really handle well at high speed. With the set up I had last year I was running 68 on GPS with a 25p Laser 2 prop. The jackplate I had would not go any higher. I have not run it this year with the new plate and all the transom work. The floor on these boats is very easy as there is not a lot of wood. Make sure the transom is soild,
or you don't mind a little work. I don't think the hull is kevlar as stated. There is no balsa core in these boats, so you have no hard to get to rott.
