??? on Convincor 4 sale

Hey guys I'm new to the checkmate thing and need a little advise from the experts.

I have a friend who is selling a 1992 25 ft convincor with a 502 mag. It has approx 500 hours on it. It's all stock with the exception of the radio which was upgraded to a cd w/ detachable face. I had another friend,who is into boats, look at it and he said it was in great condition.

I was trying to get a value off of nada but i dont know the horsepower of the 502 mag. Nada goes by liter size and horsepower.

The boat comes with the trailer. He is asking 16K

What do you guys think? Anyone know the horsepower?

I can tell you if that boat was up here in Canada in Canadian funds I'd jump on it in a second.

I'm not in the market for a boat right now, but 16K to me sounds like a great deal. That boat is probably worth 50-60K new if not more I would guess. If it's in great shape and checks out, I'd be really interested.

To me the best way to find out what it's worth is by just shopping around. Try boat trader and see what that boat is listing for. See what people are asking.

In the end, I would get a good mechanic to check it over before you lay out your cash and make sure all is in order. The one thing I've learned, is that all boats are great when they're running and they all suck when they're not.
