I was wondering if anyone could tell the exact year and make of my boat from the VIN number? The prevoius owner had not a clue. Heres the first few of the VIN.....

GHK18120M70

Any help would be appreciated!

I can tell you it is a 1970. Call Checkmate, they will be able to tell you, I would ask for Mike Combs, he is probably the one to speak to

I spoke with mike he told me it was an 82 17 ft Diplomat with a closed deck? This boat has been repainted so it is hard to read the numbers. I did'nt think it was that new. I didnt give the whole VIN before.

Sorry about the wrong year, I saw the 70 from the first VIN and used that. The Diplomat is a fast hull if set up right!

A 1931 she aint. The last two are the year made. I think you maybe read it wrong because of the paint. I guess 81, for 1981. That makes sence for a Diplomat.

1931....I hope not!! Im gonna pull it off the dry storage this weekend to get a better glance at the numbers.. It has been painted, so they might be tough to read, those are the numbers on the bill of sale. I will take some pics as well, where should I send them to be posted?
I think then you guys can tell me the truth!

I scraped some paint and found the coast guard label. The model on that says its a V-Mate II rated for up to 165 HP. Anyone seen one of these?
