Afew months ago when I was watching ebay and boattrader daily for a Checkmate I saw a Checkmate(in Texas I think)that was an open bow boat(like a Diplomat) but did not have a walk through windshield.Has anyone ever heard or seen an open bow Checkmate that did not have a way to get into it from the rest of the boat. The windshield was solid all the way across, very strange.

The center windsheild frame is removable on those boats,Not hinged like most. They're kind of a pain and usually get lost or broke over the years.

Mine is the same way. I actually don't mind it. It's pretty good when you are waterskiing and tubing. You can completely remove it and store it away.

I swear the boat I saw didn't even have a walkway to the front of the boat.It looked like someone took a closed bow boat, cut a hole in the deck and put seats up there.I wish I would have saved a picture of it.

MrWick, I've been toying with that idea for a few years now. I like the closed bow dash board, but the open bow utility. I've considered buying a nice used closed bow Pulse or Pulsare, and then cutting the deck open and installing the crash pad and furniture like an open bow. Sounds perfect to me.........
