My 74 or 75 mx 16 was painted white by the previous owner, reasons unknown to me. Some of the white paint is peeling , at the waterline, the rest of it, is rough around the edges. has anyone ever stipped paint off of a boat successfully without damaging what lays underneath,or would it be better to just put another coat on top? The bottom of the boat was painted with anti fouling paint, most of that is worn off, the gel-coat, that is showing through there, looks pretty decent, although slightly chalky. the paint issues, are cosmetic, but I would like to make the boat look as best as it could.
I plan to rig it with a inline 6 merc 115. Does anyone have any recomendations for a prop?
I should have the motor mounted within the next week, regardless it will see the water, after that.
My father and I always get a kick out of outrunning people in vintage glas, He has a 1960 14'9lonestar flamingo that runs about 43-45, with a 71' 80hp merc on it, that is in origianl condition except for the seats
