A dealer up by my place in Maine is selling his 1990 Starline with 200 Evinrude for $19,500. THis guy use to sell checkmates back in the late 80's and early 90's. Here is a link to his website. The boats listed under used intentory and there is a couple of pics. Nice boat, but come on 20k for a 16 year old boat. Does that seem a bit high to anyone else, or is it just me?

For someone who use to sell Checkmates he sure doesn't know what he has. It's not a Starline(r)(open bow), if you look closely it's actually a Starflite (closed bow).

If anyone wants my Starliner for half that amount it's yours http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

It does look like it's in excellent shape but IMO still not worth $19,500.

For $19,500 you can buy a Pulsare 2100BR with a 225 EFI that's only a few years old...........That guy is nuts!

I got one better.

Scroll down this page and look for the Playmate. This boat has now been for sale for a couple of years. He won't budge, I've tried. Funny enough, the first time I talked to him he told me the boat was bought new and it was his sons. He told me it was absolutely MINT and had been babied since new! The flake looked like new and therefore they supposedly knew they had something special and didn't really care if it sold or not. Then the listing was later revised with a higher regular price and the description now says it's totally rebuilt. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I asked him to buy just the boat, no trailer, no motah. He wanted over 3K.

Half the stuff on that page is priced insane. Old crap with mid 70's motahs for 4 and 5 grand. Give me a flippin' break...

I just want the damn Playmate...

What a bizarre website! Maybe he is actually a collector of junky old boats and has no real interest in selling any.
