Offroad Fuel Excise Tax.....

I was told that boaters can receive a tax refund of .238 cents/gal. of gasoline in NC by filing a form with your state taxes. This refunds you the state taxes you pay on gasoline for roads when the fuel is used offroad (farmers, boats, etc...) Has anybody done this? This could be a chunk of change over the course of a long boating season!
