Has anyone added hydrolic steering to their mate? How much easier did steering become? Do you think it was worth the $$$$?

This winter I added Imcos' dual ram full hydraulic steering to my '99 259. All I can say is that it was the best $3k I ever spent. Worth every penny. It is leaps and bounds over that stock cable junk. No more play in the wheel, rock steady at all speeds. Even was an easy install. However, while docking, the wheel is a little more difficult to turn than the stock cable system. When I get around to it, I plan on drilling out the orifice in the power steering pumps' control valve to increase flow a bit. It should help. By no means is this slight problem a reason to deter you from going to full hyraulic.

I have added Imco's dual ram Add on system. and I also love it. I will go to full Hydraulic but am in no rush. I like the "Feel" you get. Is it easier to steer- no but I can't say enough about the feel you get at the wheel. I got my system off E-bay from a guy who was selling new systems- got it for $1500.00 and easy to install

Outboard or I/O?
I put the Sea Star Pro on a 21 Pulsare, with 300 Merc. Very nice, eliminated the prop-torque-pull at high propshaft settings....There was a discussion on this site awhile back. There is a little "play" or "sponge" in the Hydraulic vs. a good dual cable system which could give more chine walk. It didn't bother me with my set-up, though.

I have a dual ride guide on my pulse 185 and its tight and I have driven jkeiper's pulse 185 with hydraulic steering, and I really liked the hydraulic.
I would change if it wasnt so spendy.
