Is the blue done in flake?

It looks like it is. But it's hard to see flake in pics.

Yes, the blue has flake. I'll post more pictures as Kip sends them to me.

The yellow and blue is fantastic! The last time I visited the factory (factory tour article) they had a yellow and blue striped 2100BR. I was surprised at how great those colors work together.
I like yours even better!

Chris, The deck looks great, I am sure that is one of the only 20's with blue flake flag graphic's. Looking forward to the final product. Dave Fargo

Drex:

It looks great! I like the fact that they have the "stepped Down" area where the swim ladder is. I like that about my Pulse185 over the 2100 Pulsare and it's nice to see that they brought it into the 2000 Pulsare. I also like the "no lip" on the splash well.

What are you going to get for a trailer now that C-Hawk is closed?

Jim

Hey Jkeiper,

Luckily they had my trailer already made before they shut down. According to Dave in Fargo I am getting one of the last trailers made by C-Hawk.

They are going to start assembly on my boat next week. I’ll post more pictures as Kip sends them to me.

Im looking to make a run to the factory for Dave soon, maybe I will be able to pick yours up. I havent talked to Dave for a few weeks now I will have to check into it. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
Is yours getting rigged at the factory ?

Drex
11-15-2005, 04:45 PM
Hey Jgreen,

My boat is getting rigged in North Dakota by Dave’s guy. It will have to go from Ohio to North Dakota then back to Wisconsin. What rout do you take when you go to the factory? Do you take I-90 through Madison, WI? If so, maybe I’ll try and meet up with you if your end up bringing mine back from the factory.

jgreen

Drex,

My route will depend on weather Dave flies me to Milwaukee or if I drive from Fargo. I guess my return trip could go through where ever I choose.

Are you picking it up in Fargo after its all rigged ?

Drex

Jgreen,

After it is rigged Dave is going to deliver it to Wisconsin.

Nice boat Drex, it looks crisp and clean....I like the colour scheme you chose....it's a nice upgrade from your last Pulse, which was also a beauty....what are ya powering the new rig with?

Vey Nice looking. Great colours.

I would give Eddie Marine a call and get some blue bezels to offset those gauges. Although, It may look too hot then and spontanously combust.

Dave got us a great deal on a new 2005 Mercury 200 EFI. I had a line on a 225X when I first started the whole process of ordering the new boat, but it was a lot more $$ over the 200 EFI. I should still be able to run high 60’s with the 200. I wasn’t really looking for a 100 mph screamer when we ordered this boat. Just wanted a nice all around family boat. The only requirement I had was it had to be a Checkmate!

Hey Drex,

I have a new 200 EFI on my Pulse 185 and I see low to mid seventies, so you will def. hit high sixties if not a bit more on your new rig. And be happy you got one of the last EFI beauties, contrary to what many people say Merc is most def. still having issues with the new Opti technology.

Hey Black Pulse,

I used to have a 1992 Pulse 185 almost exactly like yours! According to the guys at the factory the 2000BR is lighter than the Pulse 185. If you are seeing low to mid 70's I would think I should be right there too. The boat is now back at Dave's shop in Fargo. Hopefully I'll have it later next week!! Does anyone think the bunks on the trailer look long?

Yah, the bunks look a little long. I wonder if the use the same trailer for both the 2000 and 2100 Pulsare? It can probably be adjusted. You usually have to move axles and such a bit to get it balanced anyway. I've moved the winch bracket forward on one trailer to get more weight on the tongue. On another one I moved the axles back. Rule of thumb is 10% on the hitch. Anyway, nice looking rig. You'll be happy with the motor too. Who can afford the gas to run at WOT all day anyway? When you do, 70 MPH should be possible with the right setup.

I think those trailer bunks look perfect! You want the rear tab that is supporting the bunk to be underneath your transom aft edge. It looks to me it's on there about perfect, if not maybe one inch up too far................

Better to have the bunks to long than to short. The Eagle trailer under my 2100 Pulsare stick out about 4". But with 12" of set back, I moved the boat forward to get my tongue weight back. Great looking boat. Love the color'. Mine is white with purple and yellow. Good luck with the new Mate. boatman http://www.checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/thumb.gif

NICE BOAT! The colors are great. Thats the exact size Pulse I want to buy one day. The 200 sounds like a great compromise between fuel costs and top speed.

Motor is on! The red decals will have to go. Good thing it is winter, it will give me some time to decide what to do with the cowl. Dave says maybe next week for delivery… I can’t wait.

In my opinion, if you are going to decal the cowl kill the red and go to a yellow accent. The white Mercury could stay. If you go with the blue it will look like a 1983 motor.
