I know there isnt much of it to see in this picture but its all I have right now. Does anyone recognize this trailer?

I bought the boat from a guy in nebraska, they dont have trailer titles. Now that I brought it back to Virginia I have to get a trailer title and I dont have anything on it. The DMV wants a make and year.

I have a sparten trailer that looks almost identical! Were I live you have an option to licence a trailer homemade I dont know if you can do that in the U.S? Love the boat it looks in great shape! thanks

Looks to me like an Ezloader around the early 90's, the DMV only wanst an approx year, and a value and the serial numbers. Someone else can chime in on the trailer to confirm the make once you have that you are good to go. Or plate it as a home brew they only want the weight and serial number and value.

That could be a tough one. Have you towed it to the DMV and had them look at it?

Any ideas on where to look for the number on the trailer?? I did a quick look and didnt have any luck. Its being painted isnt helping either.

I have an EZloader from the early 90's and Bigmoss is right, it does look similar. Where mine differs is where the side rails join up to the tongue. My side rails come much further forward and aren't open where they join like on this trailer.

I have no idea wjat type of trailer that is, but I would consider getting it tagged as a homemade trailer. My Mate came with a C-hawk trailer, but after years of sitting in the sun and weather (boat stayed in a covered slip on a lift) the serial numbers and everything else on the tag were gone (faded away). Without those numbers or previous registration numbers (the trailer had not been registered since it was purchased by the 2nd owner and brought down to Texas in 1995-1996) I could not get it registered as a C-hawk trailer, so I just registered it as a homemade 4000 or 4500 lbs capacity trailer (max weight it would allow without requiring me to get it inspected by the state). According to the tax lady, the cost is the same whether it is homemade or factory as long as the weight limits are the same (higher the weight limit the higher the registration fee), the big difference is once you exceed a certain weight, a homemade trailer would have to be inspected and certified by the state DPS, whereas a factory built trailer would not. At leqast that is my understanding here in Texas.

I appreciate everyone that has helped so far. I am going to keep trying to dig up what trailer it is for a little longer.. probably the rest of the week. If I dont find out anything then I will go the homemade route. Thanks again for the tips!

James, It looks almost like the same trailer that I got with my 1986 Enticer. My trailer Is a 1996 galvanized tortion bar EZ-Loader.

Although my buddies has rollers, the basic const. including the lead-up for the bowrest and winch looks like his shorelandr.

James I have run into that a couple of times, where the title has been lost or there was no title so I had to go the route of filing that I built the trailer, ( assmebeled vehicle/ trailer title ) I have custome built a few and it usually takes 30 days to get a title here in Indiana. Have your told the DMV the model and year of the trailer?? Reed

I am good to go now... finally got a title for the trailer. It just took 5 months of waiting and research to get the trailer titled correctly. I could have always just titleded it "homemade" but wanted to do it right. Thanks to all who responded. I was agreeing with you all that it looked like a shorelander but it ended up not so.
