How will I know?

1978 Inmate 1 3.7 Merc. How will I know how much pounding my boat can withstand in rough water? Is this factor up to my body to determine or is there a safety rule of thumb I can use? Sure would like to hear from some experienced boaters on this subject.

Its a Checkmate,as long as there isn't any rot It'll hold up just fine.You start seeing some stress cracks then you know you've gone too far!
