well today i took off work, had the wife tow the v-mate and i towed the zt,i decided that with the cool air and the glass like conditions on the delaware at 7am it would be perfect to do some test runs as well as play, the zt runs great, except i get a low shudder,or vibration between 45 and 50 on the gps...have no idea where to start, checked the outdrive, nothing visable.....what could it be?after half the day tring to figure that out(being i just bought it,and worried as hell) i alone took out the v-mate from hell, still scares the hell outta me,is the 150 too much? the wave that follows slowing down or stopping will someday drown me,while ripping up and down the river i experienced the boat swaying from side to side, like skipping, slipping, kinda feels outta controll, speedo was pegged, didnt take gps with.what would cause this slip, what can i do to keep the bow down,or is this the fun of owning checkmates?i do know that the zt draws alot of attention....pics are on the way,the ones i have now are r and x rated with the scenery

Possible that the rubber hub in the prop on the ZT is bad or its out of balance (bent).Or its just not the right prop for that boat and it shudders while losing grip at that speed.Try another one and see what happens.Your other boat is chine walking.Theres a few guys here that could help you with that problem.

How far below the bottom of the boat is the prop shaft on the v-mate. Mr would get ugly when the motor was running to deep.

the center of the prop is six inches below the bottom of the boat...just taped it now

How old is the ZT ?.. When was the last time the outdrive was off ? Have you ever had the CV joint on the input shaft greased ? If you run the engine with the trim up is there any noise in the upper case ? The vibration could be a simple maintaince item that many people forget about (even some boat mechanics)
I pop my outdrive off every couple of years and grease the CV joint. Another thing to check in the same area, when was the last time the gimble bearing was greased ?
