the baystar will work fine but there was a bad string of them for about a year. they would start leaking @ the helm. They haven't had any problems since and that run was about 2 years ago. Baystar is teleflex seastar but built in canada. I'm not sure where teleflex is manufactured but probabaly the same plant.

Hi175, good to have you on board. The whale tail is super fo getting up on plane and I do like them for that reason. When I installed the Whale Tailwas not thinking about higher speeds. I'm new at this but I feel like whale tails and high speeds just don't mix. It is going to stay with the 90 when it is sold and I will be removing the one that is on my 135 black max.

Looking real good. Can't wait for the test results. Thanks Gus! Do you expect big changes with all the work you have done to the Trimate. It is looks really cool by the way!! I know that a lot of the work is for cosmetics and for restoration but the hull mods and the blue printing should really help it's perfornance. Heck that custom windshield should be good for 1 or 2 mph LOL LOL !! The lower windshield looks real nice. Did you ever see the pics of the Trimate with the looper that had a windshield cut down to about 5" with no frame? That one was also cool. Trimate was the first Checkmate I looked at when I started shopping for my first boat . In 2003 a local credit union had one that was a repo. It was really rough inside and out and had an old 115 rude on it that had some problems. They said they needed $1.600 fot it. Thinking that was high I passed but I remember how much liked the style and lines of that boat.

Didnt you get a oil block off kit? Thanks Boston and yes I did get the block off kit but didn't install it. I am torn as to what to do. Everyone on the board says take the oin injection off, mix the gas and you will never have a problem. On the other hand I have talkes to several marine tecs that tell me i'm crazy if I take it off. They tell me how good the system works and how it has worked well for many many years. They also say if i'm not going to be running crazy high rpms I will never have a lean out problem. The motor had a new oil injection pump installed last summer, I guess I will just keep it on for now. I Hope the alarm system works well and does the job if I ever do have a problem. Yep I'm confused.
