Has anyone ever run Parnelli Jones Dirt Grip Tires or Pro Comp x-terrain tires, I am looking for tires but would like to get semi-good riding and wearing tires. Thanks

I had a pro comp on my dodge for a short time. Lots of road noise. I went with a yokahama geolander. Works great offroad and no noise. Great price from tires.com

you can get the pro-comp x terrains cheap. we sold those with all our lifts here. made a killing on em. i didnt have any complaints. i have been told a directional tread is no good in the mud though. i ran these mickey thompson baja radials for a year. they were quiet and real smooth at highway speeds. these were 31-11.5-15's. make sure you get a radial tire. if you dont you will get alot of play in the steering. a radial tire is better for on road use.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v164/boombip/rRODEOFRONT031.jpg

I'm Running The Yokahama Geolanders on my 1993 Full Size Blazer and they are the best tire I have ever run. Quiet, they clean out quick and the go through mud and snow with no problem. I payed $525 @ discount tire in Bay City mounted and balanced.

My buddy had 33" Thornbirds, they wore like crazy and they drove you crazy with road noise

they look good. you would have to go with a bigger lift than 6" to fit 35" thornbirds. the tread is so wide on them you will not clear the front airdam when you turn. i second the comment about the poor wear. you will only get about 27000 miles on them. if it were your second vehicle i would do it. they feel like your driving down a brick road at 0-20 mph.

Illmattic, it is my second vehicle.I was just looking at the options I have for tires. Thats all the wear you get out of them is 27000, although thats not to bad, rotating them ever 6000 I would guess. My other ? is how much crap are they going to throw?I would like least as could be expected.

Yokahama Geolanders I'm telling ya they are great on the road and really great off road. Go to www.tirerack.com (http://www.tirerack.com) and you can read customer reviews on any tire.

Cooper makes excellent truck tires, and usually for about half the price of the big brands. Consumer Reports has tested them out real well too. Dunlop Radial Rovers are also great tires.

Bakedgoods222 and 175checkmate, I am looking into the geolanders, hows the noise? I don't mind it but don't want to much either. The other tire that caught my eye and seems to be very good on reviews are the dick cepecks by mickey thompson. I do like the geolanders though, hows the wear?

91 GTX the x-terrains look cool, but I have got mixed opinions on them, some people say no way, others say yeah, one thing that everyone saz is that they are a one way tire, meaning they go forward good but not back. They are also a little expensive.Let me know how you like them though.

I have 285/75/16 on my truck. No noise up to 110mph. Not sure after that. I have about 7k on mine and they are wearing great.
The thing I like most is they do not fold under a hard corner and are very resposive to stearing input.

BFG Mud-Terrain for off road. BFG All-Terrain for on and off road. Michelin LTX for on road all season use. I run the 245/65/17 Michelin LTX on the truck and the 225/55/17 Michelin Hydroedge on the car.
