I have an 88 Checkmate Enchanter "Simply Gorgeous" and am planning on recarpeting it this winter, but would like some of your opinions and/or advice so I don't make a bad decision. The factory color is a grey like in the pics, but I am torn between either red or black. I really like the idea of black but am not sure if it would be TOO hot. Let me know what you all think would look best, and if black is a bad idea please let me know. Thanks in advance. I am posting a couple pics so you can see what you would think as well!http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a378/tstone3/check004.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a378/tstone3/check003.jpg

I would use both...red on the sides and black in the middle.

I've had two boats with red and one with black. I didn't have a heat problem with the black carpet, I had a dirt and wear problem. My red carpet looked better after several years as compared to my black carpet. Not a huge difference, but noticeable.

The Grey carpet is much esier to keep clean, the Black shows every bit of coton wood & sand. It allways seams to look dirty.

i am going to install a black carpet in my predictor. I have one in the sidewinder and in the glastron gt150. the dirt shows more than any other color but looks really nice when clean. your boat looks like it is super clean so i am sure that you wouldnt mind sweeping or vaccuming the carpet once and a while...
how do you like the photoshop comp i made?
i would do it like that if i were you.

I really want to put black in and am not too concerned with it being harder than red or gray to keep clean as long as it isnt going to be TOO hot. Will black make that much more of a difference or no? Thanks again in advance!

keep in mind that your boat will be in cold water and cool air will be keeping the temp low too.
go for the black man, i would!
