hey im a newbie and wanted to say hi first off.

my dad bought a late 70's predictor a few years ago for like 300 bucks out of a guys yard b/c it had been sitting there forever. we took it out twice and its just been sitting cus pops hasnt had the money. this summer i want to go out in it b/c the 2 times we had it out it was such a blast. the motor is a 4 cyl 115 evinrude. runs decent. need a new prop. need a new engine controller. tends to try and shock u when u start it up. and its just in bad shape. the back section of the floor needs to be ripped up and replaced along with new seats b/c the old ones were just trashed. the hull of the boat is in excellent condition from what i can tell. the paint is just faded and the ride side glass is busted. id just like to get a new floor and controller for it and enjoy it for the summer and then hopefully restore it this winter completly. im gonna take the digi-cam and take some pics and ill post it up here. time to browse around. ne info on predictors u can steer we towards would be awsome. ohh and im located in norfolk,va if neone happend to be curious.

Welcome to the board and congrats on the boat. Anything can be fixed, just takes time and money.

There area few ways to complet the interior.
1, You can take it to a local shop and have it re-done.
2, You can call Checkmate and they can make an original interior.
3, Or you can go aftermarket. This is the place I got my seats and vynal from. http://store.yahoo.com/veadastore/index.html
That can do just about anything in 3 color's and if you need something modified, the can customise it for you. If your not sure about a color, let send samples.

Welcome to the best boat board on Earth!!
Another Predictor owner!!
Do I see a trend???
I have a 1985 Predictor with a 115 Merc.
They are a fun boat and fairly lite.
I was able to hit 52 MPH last Summer. Seems alot faster in such a small boat!
I am in the middle of replacing the floor.
See link below. Good luck and shout if you have any questions.

yeah the 2 times we had our out before it was lost in the backyard it was alot of fun. i cant wait to take it out this summer.....my progress depends on the cash flow. 85- the outside of ur boat looks really good. i wish mine looked that good. but for what we paid for it i really cant complain.

the speed-o is inop in mine. tho a section of the river by my house has the interstate running beside it and we were def running = to the flow of traffic.

im very excited. i love the predictor. of all the different models ive seen its my fav. its just soo sleak looking. and if i had to by a new checkmate i really like the pulsare 2100. thanks for the replys. 175- thanks for the seat links . thats what i they have seats like i pictured. i think for the back i want to do a bench with a small cooler in the middle.... but im still going througha few things in my head.
