Hey everyone.
If you've ever wanted to have a famous boat, this might just be your chance.
I've had a request from Rob Lucas from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for pics of some older Checkmates. Rob is putting together a Calender which will highlight historic Ohio boat manufacturers. Last year, Rob's department highlighted Ohio lighthouses which became their 2004 calender.
For next year's calender, Rob is looking for some pictures of older Checkmates which he would like to use for one of the months in the calender.
He has specifically requested the following types of photos.
-Pics of Checkmates which were manufactured in the 1960's.
-Black and whites photos (vintage if possible).
-Recent color shots of vintage boats.
-Vintage catalogue pics, advertisements and historical pictures.
Also note, preference will be given to photos which illustrate Checkmates showing OHIO registration numbers on them. And, pictures which highlight boats with people on board wearing lifejackets.
I am in the process of working with Kip to see what we can come up with. If you have something that you think would be a nice piece for this calender, please post the details of what you have in this thread, and I will attempt to work with both Rob and Kip to get them any items they would like to obtain. Time is short, so please quickly gather up what you have so we can make this happen.
I will post more details as they are worked out.
