what oil should i run

hey fellow mates i have 9 hrs on my complete 468 rebuild . temp is running about 190 with a 160 thermostat . they will run warmer on breakin but what oil type do u think i need to run before season opens up. Full senthedic or what. Keep on smokin the Bahahahahas. 85 senator

There are alot of opinions on whether to use synthetic or dyno oil. I am not going to start a big debate here. I personally use straight 40 Pennzoil dyno oil in my boat. I am not a big believer in synthetic for pleasure use. I hope you are not attempting to break in a new motor with synthetic oil. That will not work very well.
I have never heard of a engine running hotter during break in. It should run normal temps. You have another issue to address there. Why would it run warmer during break in? Besides, 9 hours is plenty of time. When I was into racing, I would run a new motor in for a few minutes in the garage. Then maybe take a few easy runs. Then run it for all it has.

I re-read my post. By dyno oil I mean petroleum based oil.

our shop runs 40 wt (kendall), on roller engines we make a few laps around the lake to ensure all systems are functioning properly, then pin the throttles.. on flat tappet engines we reccomend break in.. but 9 hrs should suffice.. if an engine is going to go from being rebuilt.. its gonna go in the first hour or 2..

the block was scard so it had to be bored . I was thinking that it might run warmer for that resone . it is a alpha drive and they dont pick up that much water as it is that could be it to.i have lightning headers on it and had to rig a tee configoration since my theromo housing has 4 hoses coming off of it .but i have the right y fittings now from cp performance but havent been able to run it yet.it is possible that the water is,t leaving the block fast enought. keep on smokin bahahahas.
