As much as I regret to say I am going to sell my 92 Pulse 211 with 92 V6 225 hp Evinrude. This boat is in excellent shape and has spent most of it's time garaged. You can checkout some pictures in the Picture This section under Happyhours Pulse. I had some discussions regarding the setup with the boat and you will find in that thread a lot of details about the boat. Were asking $14500.00
Email me at happyhour4pm@yahoo.com if you have any questions.

http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/bounce.gifSpring is right around the corner and I sure would like to see my Checkmate off to it's new owner. Were beginning to down size our life a bit so we can be ready to pull up and move way south when the time is right. I'm gathering from the lack of responses http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gifto my "ad" here that you folks must think I am asking to much......that may be...... so start making some offers if your at all interested. I really want to get this boat to a good home. I just do not use it enough to make it worth keeping. Check it out and let me know what you think......I am ready to deal http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif

Sure you don't want to keep that big boat for the bigger waters down south? This might be a good hull for JRumon.

Hey JW
I wouldn't mind taking it down south with me but seeing how I want to retire early I am not sure I can keep the gas tank full http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif but you are right being a heavier hull it does handle the ruff water real nice.....matter of fact it adds that little extra excitement that makes it fun!!......I have kicked around putting it on EBay this spring......maybe after I park it at the local launch site for a few days......

I guess if you want to use those guides for out-right pricing that's your choice but there is no way that those guides take into account a boat that is in exceptional condition. Most 1992 boats are sun faded and in need of new interiors and so forth. You have to consider the condition of a boat (IMHO) when deciding on a price. This boat looks as good as it did the day it was purchased. In my mind that makes it worth more than the book value. Top that with the fact that most people here seem to like the smaller hull boats, which is fine also, but there are folks looking for a more stable family style boat that still kicks ass on the water. This boat looks fast just sittin on the trailer! It should be gone this spring and I will let you all know what she goes for. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think so.

Hey Happyhour,

you are right they are just guides but they are not off by 100% either. I hope you get that much out of your boat, you will being doing well if you do but I see similar boats selling every day on the net for less, good luck.

That boat has rarely spent the night in the water. It is always covered or in the garage. When it's in the garage it has the cockpit cover on it then the mooring cover then a large tarp over that to help keep the covers nice. I live right on the water so when I want to run it I pull it out splash it use for the day and if it sits over night I towel dry early in the morning before the sun gets a chance to hit it.

See I think the problem is that the net is not the best place to sell everything (IMHO). As has been discused in other places here supply and demand drives price. When compared to every other boat in the usa for sale I guess most might opt for a cheaper route. I sell my items either from placing them in a place where my targeted buyers are or through local papers. Not everyone uses the computer. Besides my wife can turn dirt into gold. We have never sold a car or boat that we did not get more than we paid for it. I don't know how she does it but I have seen her in action. I live about thirty minutes from the factory and I have never seen a checkmate on any of our local waters not counting Lake Erie. As I said I will let you know what it sells for. I really need the garage space back!

Thanks, I really want to know what you sell it for because it's my dream boat. If I had the money, thats exactly what I would have and it sounds like you have kept exceptional care of it. I'm always trying to figure out how much money I need to have saved to achieve my dream so I spend alot of time on the net searching and looking through boat-traders etc.

HappyHour...
Nice Boat..looks clean, (but JW, I need a bow rider)!
NADA pricing is a joke... I've away's taken them as a "BANK WILL LOAN YOU THIS MUCH" amount... they are WAY OFF BASE (at least around this part of the country). Sure, you can go to Florida, buy a salt air, sun roached out piece of cr@p, and a motor with saltwater cancer...for NADA suggest price. Keep in mind these are a "GUIDE" and not the setter of prices.... Jim.
Good luck with the sale... I would put it in Boat trader magizine and on there web sight at www.BoatTraderOnline.com (http://www.BoatTraderOnline.com)

It's been a year and I was just wondering if you ever sold the boat? I will be in the market for one this fall. Shane

Hi Shane
Nope I have not sold it yet. I had an offer last fall and turned it down. In hind-sight I should have taken it. I have a boat over-population problem right now and have to pay to store it off my property during the winter so each season I don't sell it cost me another $250 bucks. Looks like my opinion of it's value is only held by me. I am not at your $7500 range yet.
I have the boat over at Kunkel's Marine in Mansfield, Ohio on consignment. That is where it originally came from. Harold said he used it as his ride for a year or two before he sold it. I have always been impressed with the business they have going and I figured who better to sell it than a Checkmate dealer! I was planning on giving them a call to see how it is going as well as give them a little more leeway to get it sold. I still contend that someone is going to get a great boat.
I know most the guy's on this site like the shallower, lighter hull's but I really like the stability and effortless control that the heavier boat gives. So it doesn't go ludicrous speed it is still plenty fast enough to get you in trouble.
I shouldn't complain...I have the perfect set up on boats right now.....a speed boat, a fishing boat and a pontoon boat...oh yea..I have a paddle boat and a canoe also.....and I can't forget the 34 inch nitro deep vee radio control boat. Like I said boat over population......something has to go!
Well thanks for dropping me a line....hope you find the boat your looking for.

Sorry you haven't sold it yet, but it's good news for me. If you still have it this fall let me know, I think this is the last summer for my little mx. So you are a fellow RC boater? me too! I have a 30" electric V and a 48" scale 38' scarab with a 25cc gas engine and dual exhaust. Good to hear from you, shane. http://checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/beer1.gif

Happy hour
I sympathize with you regarding the 'blue book' prices of valuing your boat and your own price....my Checkmate 185 Pulse BR is my baby, it is in excellent shape, has a brand new motor, runs perfect, no scratches or hull damage, but I have to remember that the hull is now 8 years old....so it is not as valuable as I know it really should be.....in your case, I think some people are a bit scared off as your engine and hull are about 13 years old now, double digits, and while you are the only one who truly knows how well kept it is, it almost doesnt matter in the eyes of others....sadly, it is an old hull and engine with lots of mileage on it....sad to think that that is exactly what others are saying, huh?
I truly hope you get your price of about 14, 500 but understand why you are thinking of possibly having to accept something lower than that...personally, I would price your boat around the 10 000 -11 000 range, but that's just IMO, and none of my business....
Best of luck selling,
B.P.

Thanks Black Pulse!
I have been advertising at the $10,000 range (with commission thats $9300- $9000 in my pocket)and have had little action. I regret to say that where it is now they are storing it outside http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif! Last year it spent the evenings and weekends inside at least.
I am bringing it home the weekend of June 4th and preping an ad for EBay. http://checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/brickwall.gif The reserve will be low enough to be a great deal and be sure I sell it. I hate to see it just sitting around not being used at all. All the while I have owned the boat it did not spend more than 2 nights out. I always brought it out of the water, washed it and back in the garage to store it.
Let's hope I can get this boat a new home. If only my lake was little more friendly I would keep it but 21 footers are against the rules!

Hey I was just wondering if you ever sold your boat? I wanted to know what it sold for, I ended up buying an 88 starflite that I got for 5,000, it's not in as good of condition as yours but that's all the money I had to spend. I hope your boat went to a good home, shane
