Welcome Younger,
The boat looks great, is that a 250 hanging off the back? Very nice.
Can I be the bad guy? Love the boat, never liked the horse head. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif I only like the horse head in stitching on the seat backs.
Looking forward to the 24' bow rider, and I'm REALLY hoping one thing is fixed that I didn't like about the 21' Pulsare. That darn step-up in the back of the bow area tripped up most of my riders.....................

The great thing about Mate is you can have it YOUR way.
If you don't like the horsehead....don't order it. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

that boat is checkmate's rep's boat John ???? something, kip said the 2400br would be out mid oct. i'm not big on the horse head on the side either. i wish Checkmate would improve the interior of all the outboards. Maybe i'm wrong with some of the owners but you look at some of the competion boats their's are alot nicer. Just my 2 cents. the rest of the boat no need to change! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The boat looks great, except for the horsehead that looks like McDonalds golden arches.I personally like the Black flamed 2400,thats the perfect scheme for me.I think Checkmates interior work is superb, and I have been on many other boats. What maks them so cool is if you want a special color, just ask.Try and get that at your local 4 winns dealer!Keep the 24s coming, lets see one with twins!

OK... that Pulsare 2400 is a sweet boat and I love the flames (I too don't care for the horse on the side but to each his/her own). I can't wait for the 2400BR to come out!!! It's a beautiful boat as a long-deck, just hope to see MAXIMUM interior space used for the open bow area... More interior, more people, more family fun, and maybe my NEXT CHECKMATE???
I like the idea of twins, BUT with soaring gas prices... Evinrude has a 300 E-Tec coming out this fall, Yamaha has a 300 HPDI & 250 4-stroke, and Merc's 275 Verado (barf)... By the way, I got a chance to ride in a 24'cc with a 275 verado this summer and NO WAY!!!... that thing is an HUGH over weight pig that you need premium fuel for! I think a 225 optimax would run circles around it... and FEEDING that new 'supercharged" 4-stroke is no better than a old 2-stroke!!! Maybe if merc racing releases the 350hp version it may be worth it??? Just my 2 cents...
BACK TO THE TOPIC: Curious on what the test run results are on the Pulsare 2400 with the 250XS or any other motor??? The magizine needs to do a performance evaluation on this one... it's deservers some good PR and exposure! Jim.

(that's for Kurt & I)
Like I said over and over again...NO MORE BLACK BOATS! Love the look, hate the extra maintainance!!! Pink was cool with that 300 Promax when I blew by the "manly colored boats"
So WHAT??? will be my next Checkmate??? http://www.checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/thumb.gif Jim

Outstanding boat with a muscle boat profile. I still think the 2100 Pulsare sides with the little curve molded in is cooler though. Just need to win the lotto so I can order a 2400 with a 300x...maybe have Wildman custom rig it!! http://checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Jrumon, I finished rigging the 21 yesterday. I put an 800watt Rockford Fosgate stereo in it today. I'm waiting for the wind and rain to stop so I can test it out.

It's my personall boat. Gotta have a "KILLER" demo boat ya know. I have 5 props to try on a 1.75 Sportmaster. After I find the best one, I'll change to a 1.75 Fleetmaster with a Bob's nosecone. My 21ft Rallysport was 5mph faster with the Fleetmaster. The props I'll try are: 27 Trophy, 28 Trophy, 27 Hydromotive 4 blade that's been labbed, 27 Mazco HP4, and a 28 Performance Propeller "DRAG 4". I'm running a custom 12" setback bracket with a 4.5" Gorrilla 7" lift hydraulic jackplate. I also think the killer stereo will make it feel faster.

WILDMAN... I have a sweet custom 28p 5-blade "ET" style available as well!
If I get to Florida sometime this winter,
I'll bring it with me, but I want a ride!!! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/thumb.gif

Jrumon, If you can, call me tonight. I have some setup questions. I took the 21 out today. Kinda disappointing. 386-788-4378
SCT has a lot of seat time with the closed deck 2100 with a 225 EFI and a 300 and then an open bow with a 300X. Maybe he'll see this and pitch in too.
You're running more setback than anyone has done before with a 300X. Did you get some porpoising?
WILDMAN
10-06-2005, 09:31 PM
No porpoise whatsoever. The boat was a little hard to handle around 80 by myself. Put a passenger in it, and it settled right down. I was running 27-28 pitch props and rpm was only 6000-6200. I think the Sportmaster slowed me down. I brought a noseconed Fleetmaster with me, but I forgot that the studs are different. Best I saw was 83.7 mph. Best engine hieght was about 1"-1.5" below the pad. What prop worked the best on yours?

WILDMAN... just saw your posting so I'll call you tonight.
I also swapped from a sportmaster over to a nose-coned fleetmaster housing on my Starflight/300... it saw 2mph gain top end and 3-4mph gain with the motor deep cruising at 3500rpm. My motor height was only 1/2" below the bottom of the "V" but that was with a 10" CMC and the starflight has a 6" notched transom... and 87.1 mph. I really think my 5-blade ET prop would have gottten the slip of the 28 chopper II down enough for 90+mph. You may have to move your battery and trim pump to the port side for single driver balance (I did). Jim
