Here are a FEW pics of my new Mate. I am probably one of the youngest Checkmate owners on this board (24 YO this month) but I hve been a fan of the brand since I was ~12 YO.

These pics were taken at our summer vacation home on Pelican Lake in Pelican Rapids, MN over the weekend of Oct. 21st -23rd. The temp was ~40* and there were no other boats out on the lake. I would not normally be out in weather like this but I just purchased the boat and HAD to go for a ride before summer. The entire interior was restored within the past few years. The hull is in great shape as is the transom. The 225 Evinrude was rebuilt in '01. There is currently a 24" Raker SS prop but I want to try a 22" for a better holeshot. The boat has a Sea-Star hydraulic steering setup and a Bob's 8.5" manual JP. It has a Grant hardwood steering wheel and all nine guages are brand new. There is an additional 12 gal. reserve fuel tank on board. I purchased this Mate from a member here by the name of FluidGrooves.

On to the pics...

Great shots and a great looking mate!
I would run my Mate around here (Michigan) until the last weekend in October. That was when I was your age....now its's out of the lake by Oct 1.
I bought my Mate when I was 25 and still have it today.....12 years later.
Once again that is a really nice looking boat.

Hey Rob, AWSOME boat man!!!! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/thumb.gif http://www.checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/thumb.gif http://www.checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/thumb.gif
I think I got you beat on the age thing though. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I've had my checkmate since I was 19 and I'm 22 now! I had my first when I was 9!
I love Starflites more than any other checkmate. It has been my dream to own one ever since I first saw one. Great checkmate, I'm jealous! Great deal too http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
I've never been in one I'm just curious on how she rides and handles rough water...i can imagine that it's a pretty smooth ride. My predictor is alot smaller than a starflite, and there is no ratteling or cracking at all when jumping over the 1'-2' chop. Also is the bottom painted with antifouling paint or something?

I love all the unique angled shots that you got, they really capture the awsome style and sharp lines of that baby. I really love the low shot with the blades of grass in the foreground. Good use of enviroment to create an interesting mood. That water really looks cold too...I wish I waited a bit longer to winterize my rig...Missed too many clam sunny days this month http://checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/brickwall.gif
I'm glad to see that more and more people are buying and enjoying checkmates and sharing thier experiances with all of us! thanks Rob!
Check out my 1989 Predictor. I think you'll like it http://checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/beer1.gif

thank you

Thanks for the compliments guys, they are appreciated.

Yeah, the water was quite cold, only got the feet in and that was more than enough.

Boat of the month material for sure. Those are some great shot. Looks like a nice place to run a boat also.

Rob, Great looking starflite. I have an 87 as well (boat of the month of September). What is the deal with the two different registration numbers? Am I seeing double??

Great looking boat! I like the pics those sunset pics and the frost pics are unreal. Made me cold just looking at them. Was the frost from leaving boat in overnight? Bet those seats were nice and hard not to mention COOOLLLDDDD that morning. Good luck with her and have fun waiting for spring! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/thumb.gif

There are two registration numbers on the boat right now. I didn't want to waste any of my short time up there removing the old numbers (there was no patrol boat, or any other boat for that matter so I wasn't worried).

It's gonna be hard to choose a single pic for the boat of the month vote...what is your favorite guys?

Here are two short video clips from my trip. Kinda crappy quality because I had to compress them so much to upload them.
