View Full Version : engine lid upholstery question?

hey guys....Putting a to do list together for the winter. The upholstery on the engine cover is coming loose at the edges a bit. It looks like it is just a piece of Plywood with the fabic (vinyl) stapled to it. Can I take it off and re staple it? feels like the plywood may be water damaged. Thanks for your help.

Same problem happened on my convincor. My friend who is in the marine service industry made a great suggestion: GET RID OF THE WOOD!

He said to take it into a shop and have them sew a mesh backing onto it, use snaps and a bad to keep it in place. Great Idea, easy to dry, change out foam, etc. Cheap also!
