Has anyone ever repowered a 86 25' Convincor with a 6.2 MPI Merc Horizon and bravo drive? I have a deal on this motor and drive and am looking for help picking prop and top speed expectation. Thanks much, Mark

I don't know of anybody who has done this repower. But,a friend has a 2003 SeaRay with a 6.2 liter and a Bravo drive. So far, it turned out to be a real good reliable package. He gets close to 50 mph with it. I am sure your Convincor will do better, my guess would be close to 60 mph. Just make sure you hook up all the alarms that come with this new motor. If you need, I have the wiring diagram for it.

Thanks Vinny, The shop I am working with will do all of the wiring. They can wire the new engine into the existing gauges but I am leaning towards replacing the speedo and tach with the smart craft guages that have multi-function. They monitor all kinds of stuff. I have had this boat for 4 years now, 2 years in the water and 2 out too busy with work and family stuff to use it. It had the 350 Magnum in it and touched 50 MPH on a good day. I am shooting for 60. It is such a great hull.

My friends SeaRay has SmartCraft as well. It is pretty nice to have, but I would bet it will get expensive to put in as an option to this power.
