Before I put the fiberglass on the new floor, I need to decide wheather to make drain holes for the sub-floor or not.
I could not find a drain hole when I pulled the floor out. Mike at Checkmate said there should be one. It was probably plugged.
The problem I see with a drain hole is that it will work great in both directions. Water IN/OUT
The problem with sealing the sub-floor is if water does happen to find its' way in, there is no way out.
HELP!!
THANKS!!

if it was designed by checkmate to have one i would put it back yes they work both ways but wouldn't you want to know before it's too late i've learned that a boat can fill up in a hurry and i've been very lucky but i strongly advise putting that drain hole back ...... brian s

Do the drain channel. Make sure that ware can run donw both sides of the stringer to exit at the back to the drain plug. Seal all wood to keep it dry. The problem I see is this. If the floor is 100 sealed where does the water go that gets in the boat when you are climing out of the water? Would you leave a pocket in the back for the bilge pump and a place for the water to go?
I just thin it would be easer to seal all the wood than seal the floor 100%, like you said if water did get in there, how is it going to get out?
