OK... this "for sale" listing is PENDING the purchase of my 300Promax for the Starflight (I have found a few and have an offer pending)

This motor is very clean top to bottom and has the newer 200 Promax style graphics, all the paint is excellent, lower unit is excellent, and powerhead appears to be 100% stock and never touched, modified, or worked on. It is turn-key and very very nice!!!

The 200XRi is a factory "cheater motor"... fuel injected, different tuning, special exhaust tuner, and a factory louvered ram-air motor cover. These motors and put out 220+hp at 6200+rpm... This one (I was told by Kip when they ran it last fall)...turned 6000rpm with 25p Tempest on the Starflight!

It will be available (ONLY if & when) this deal I have going on a 300 Promax pans out...

Available 4 ways???
#1. all stock motor with stock lower unit...$3800.
#2. all stock motor with CLE lower unit...$4500.
#3. modified motor(245hp) with stock lower unit...$4800?
#4. modified motor(245hp) with CLE lower unit...$5500?

Jim @ jrumon@yahoo.com or post questions here!

Have you done a compression test, or a leak down?
If you get your 300 pm, is your price firm ?
I would want it stock.
Know any body looking for a good running 175 efi? http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Soon as the taxes are done, I'll be in the market for a 150 - 200 hp Merc................................

I'm sure Kurt or Kip could elaborate on how well it runs... If it's pulling a 25p tempest on a 21'er with a couple adults in it to 6000+rpm... it's doing something right! Motor looks VERY clean... just give me a few hours to detail it with a tooth brush, and this motor would be cherry!!! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

I put it up for the same as fnshrmaster was asking last fall ($3800) before the boat was traded to Kip for the GTX... http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif

I will detail it, do a compression test, and make sure everything is 100% before it goes to a new home! http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/surf.gif

I'm sure someone's going to grab a NICE MERC! http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/xxrotflmao.gif

Now all I need is my 300PM offer to be a GO!!! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Yep, I'm interested in any V6 Merc, whether it's 2.0, 2.4, or 2.5. I might go JohnnyRude or Yamahammer too, as long as they are the 2.6 motors. It all depends on the price. I'm building a budget project boat. My goal is to go 85 mph for $4500. So far I've spent $1700.

Anyone serious about this Merc 2.5L 200XRi??? I figure I'd give you Checkmate forum members the first shot at it for $3800...(thats $200-$400 below local market price)... here's the deal...

I have an offer in on a 300Promax right now and should know if it's a done deal by the end of the week... I hate dealing L-O-N-G distance http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/jpshakehead.gif (details, payment, crating, shipping, etc.)... so it's kind of 50/50 and pending still. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

So..is anyone serious about committing to the XRi if this 300 comes my way??? It's a sweet looking motor and would be really happy to stay on a checkmate!!! http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

If I had a buyer for my 175, I would be interested, 3600.00 would take my 175 efi mariner.

Too bad you're both above my price cap, I could help one or both of you out! Your motors are too new and nice for me http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif

I hear you JW...and understand the "budget build" your aiming for!

I too am aiming for a "budget" affordable 300PM... I just can't see spending $10K on a used motor for the Starflight! For a few more grand, I can get a newer Pulsare with a 300pm on it already... So I'm looking daily as well and will let you know if something interesting for you comes up! http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/surf.gif Jim.

Price is a deal to my fellow Checkmate members...$3800 stock / $4500 with CLE lower.

It's now on S & F for $3995 stock and $4795 with CLE...and going in Trading Times, Boat Trader, and online next week! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Act FAST if you want this motor... A deposit will hold it to end of March! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif Jim.

jrumon
01-28-2005, 03:18 PM
I forgot to mention a few things...

The price of $3800 stock or $4500 including the CLE lower is ONLY for CHECKMATE FORUM MEMBERS... to get that "deal", you would need to come get it! Located in SE Michigan area (Livonia, Mi. 48154).

As a bonus, I will pull it off my boat, and bolt it onto your boat (to make the pick-up painless and no chance of any motor damage)... that does NOT include me removing your old motor! For a little extra fee, I would hook everything up & adjust as well... steering, throttle cable, shift cable, wiring harness, battery cables, oil inj lines, fuel line, etc. Just add your prop and it would be water ready!!! http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/surf.gif

Boat & motor are winterized and hibernating nicely in the storage garage right now, and would be a serious pain in the a$$ to get it out with this much snow on the ground! (i'd have to hire a snow plow to do 500' of driveway).

A DEPOSIT would hold the price & motor until the weather improves! If your serious, don't wait long! I got 3 e-mails from S&F yesterday ($3995 & $4795) but told them it's a "come and get it" only deal right now. (I don't want to deal with shipping if possible).

I gotta finish bdusteds boat first. http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/brickwall.gif

If I can get the money together to get this motor I got to put it on something. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Although thinking about this motor I keep getting the urge to do the boat in Black with Pink stripes, or maybe big Pink flames. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I might have to sell the Mustang to do this whole project though. http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

Sposed to go get it this weekend. His wife wants it out of there.

Not sure when I'm gonna get to the actual project though.

Trying to get the garage income up so I can leave this nutty job and be home more.

I like your Dealership idea. We need to get together and hash that out sometime.

How much deposit do you want on that motor?

Hey Coop...

I do have a guy from S&F interested and he will probably be seeing it this weekend if I can free up some time....Seems fairly serious but you know how that goes! http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/eyes.gif

DEPOSIT??? a $300 deposit would hold it for a couple of months... Ideally, I'd like to pull it off over my spring break (end of March or beginning of April), then payment in full and maybe picking it up at that time??? Thanks, Jim. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Hey COOP... Forgot to mention in last post...

If your REALLY SERIOUS about it, GET IT BEFORE HE DOES!!! I would rather sell it for $3800 to a checkmate forum member than the S&F guy for $3995! Just let me know and I will gladly hold it for you (as long as you want to send a deposit and pay for it by the end of March)... Just let me know ASAP before it's gone or I list it in Boat Trader. Thanks, Jim.

Well I am serious but can't comit a deposit this weekend, cause I got alot on my plate moving the stang home. So it would be a couple of weeks to get you a deposit.

So if he gets it first that's fine.

Unless you'd be interested in the stang. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I will probably be selling it to build me a waterrod. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Hey Coop...

It's not the deposit so much as just making sure I have a solid "cash in full" buyer for it when it comes off. http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/surf.gif

As far as the Mustang... get some photos... http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

But I am gonna pass on the motor right now cause something big is in the works this month and I need every doller that I can get my hands on.

Maybe later if all goes well and you still have it.

MOTOR is OFF the MARKET for now.... http://checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

After pricing a crappy little 90hp carb motor for $6995 "on sale"... I'm thinking this motor might be happy on the back of a "Party Barge"... so I'm looking for a nice clean 24+ footer with NO motor right now. If things change, I'll repost the motor with photos...

Now all you interested people can kick yourself for not jumping on it when you could... http://checkmate-boats.com/graemlins/brickwall.gif Sorry guys! Jim.
