Checkmate's best big boat model, and big block power!

Question for you Dan: When I had my Persuader I/O, I found my best top speed was with the exhaust routed down the Y-pipe and out the prop, instead of straight out the transom. Same for you?

JW, I have played with that and it doesn't seem to make alot of difference either way thru hull or out the prop. You would think thru hull would be faster,but it doesn't seem to be the case.

your motor is 'tuned' to run good either way. Mine was tuned to run the stock exhaust, so when I put it through the transom it ran too lean and lost a lot of power on top end.

This is my boat now. Bought it early spring 2003. Love it, hopefully getting procharger near future.

You have good taste.I think putting a set of Gil or Stainless Marine "header type" exhaust manifold would be worth while.Let that big block breath and loose some of that extra weight in the back.Then procharger,and that thing would sing! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
