i'm looking forward to it ,we'll find dave too . i love the sound of big blocks in the morning !!!
My new Glastron is just for ski/tube duty. Fuel efficient 4.3 190 horse, zero wood in the hull so I don't care HOW much water gets dumped in it. Just an inexpensive boat to own/operate.
Now I'm looking for a little hot rod just for myself!!

Erik-
When did Jason put the motor in? I hope you knew this boat well. 10+ year old boats always scare me. Good Luck!!!
Eriktheviking
04-11-2004, 12:36 PM
The motor was done about 4 years ago. I know the last owner barely used it.In fact he wasn't aware of all the High Perf pieces that were in it.You should have seen my face when I opened the hatch and saw those Stainless Marine manifolds on there http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.There are no stress cracks on the boat.Looking real solid, narrow beam and not really that deep of a hull I think she'll run good.It sounds good thats for sure http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif!

04-11-2004, 04:35 PM
Yeap,I was thinking my son and I could have lots of fun racing each other.Only one problem,he's only 13.He did take a supervised run in the Enforcer. That put a smile on his face. http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif

erik , any bites on the enforcer ? i saw a 98 251 for sale insyracuse , looks similar to dave t's ,, switch the motor from the scarab into that , sit down shut up and hold on baby , sell the enforcer and scarab , you're backkkkkk ! if more is better , too much is just enough !!!
BOB'S 283
04-12-2004, 09:17 AM
seriously folks , in my humble opinion that 251 convincor is the best all around hull checkmate ever made , they should dump the wimpy classic name and relable it as "hard core" treat it like the animal it can be .......

Just a couple nibbles on the boat.I don't have time for engine swaps Bob. http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/eyes.gifI've got enough stuff going on. Gotta drop the motor (340) back in my 70 Cuda and get that straightened out. Trying to get my most recent Harley finished and then comes a new roof on the house. http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/jpshakehead.gif After all that I'm gonna sit on my boat a drink a few BEERS! http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/surf.gif

Dave, Yes I have it.It doesn't have bolsters. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gifFor it's length its really not that deep. Gotta get busy cleaning it up.The Enforcer might be going to a fellow member. We'll see what happens. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif Good luck with the engine assembly.

I've been buffing using Meguiars color restorer with a white foam pad. Really brings it back. Do me a favor and stop buy and finish my boat http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.I sick of this buffing BS! http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/irked.gif

Talked to the original owner of the Scarab today! He's the guy that had Performance Marine do up the engine. He stated that it ran 78-80 mph speedo after the work was done! Who knows what it is GPS but I Can't wait to mash that throttle DOWN! RISENSHINE

i'll be happy if nothing breaks this year !
Eriktheviking
05-12-2004, 11:13 PM
That would be a good race. How much does your boat weigh? You'll have a lot more ponies to turn that 26 prop.(Only a guess) Yeah, I hope everything holds together. Summer kinda stops when something breaks. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/brickwall.gif

checkmate never gave me a straight answer on weight .brochure shows 5300 i think , same as the published weight back in the late 80's with twins...fuel of 130 gals , about 1000 lbs , one way or the other . and depending how many coolers of coors light in the bow , who knows / cares? i just spent umpteen thousand for more hp but i'm really more interested in just having a good time on the lake with my friends. i bet a lot of you can relate.
