WE HAVE A LITTLE GET TOGETHER AT ALUM CREEK NEAR COLUMBUS EVERY YEAR.AND JUST WANTED TO INVITE EVERYONE TO COME OUT.
IT'S SORT OF LIKE STREET RACING(NOTHING OFFICIAL)TO SEE WHO'S GOT THE HOT BOAT.
WE GENERALLY HAVE SOME PRETTY FAST HARDWARE SHOW UP.100 MPH PLUS.
USUALLY STARTS AROUND 10:00-11:00AM TIL 5:00PM.
WE ARE GOING TO BRING A NEW CONVINCOR 300 SINGLE ENGINE WITH A 572 RUNS MID TO UPPER 80'S
ALWAY'S A GOOD TIME.CHECKMATE'S ARE USUALLY FASTEST V BOTTOMS THERE.
FOUNTAINS AND BAJA'S ALL RUN AND HIDE.

WE ARE BRINGING DOWN THAT BLUE FLAME 300.DON'T HAVE IT DIALED IN YET!
MID TO UPPER 80'S
BUT WE ARE STILL WORKING ON IT.

Wish I could make it I'm like the only member on the west cost. I haven't even seen a boat like mine out here. alot of people haven't even herd of a checkmate. My convincor draws alot of attention at lake havasu az. where I do most of my boating. 100 plus MPH boats every where. There is always somebody faster someone wants to race me every time I put my boat in the water. I bought my boat from jupiter florida ship it back here. I'v beat alot of v bottoms. wish I could make it have fun and be safe at the event.

Too bad I'm not closer. I just got my Bmax drive back and ran it today. Now that the engine is up to full power, I ran it up over 100 and backed off. It's hairy up there, but there’s a lot left. Be safe out there.

SORRY! I GUESS I WAS LOOKIN AT THE SPEEDO WRONG.
IT'S JUST NOBODY LIKES TO COME OUT TO PLAY IF THEY THINK THEY ARE GOING TO GET BEAT.
CAT'S HATE TO GET BEAT BY V-BOTTOM'S BUT THEY WILL JUMP ON ONE IN A HEART BEAT.
IT'S ALOT OF FUN TO BE ABLE TO GO AROUND THEM OR AT LEAST HANG RIGHT WITH THEM.
WE RAN DEAD EVEN WITH A BUNCH OF SKATERS AND THAT FELT GOOOOOD!
BOAT WASN'T ALL STRIPPED OUT AND IT WAS JUST A STANDARD PRODUCTION LAY-UP NOTHING SPECIAL AT ALL. THAT SAY'S A TON ABOUT CHECKMATE BOATS AND IT WAS SUPER ROUGH!

Did get some pictures ..but it will take a while for me to get them in a format i can post here.....After i saw their first run i knew it wasn't running 80's....! Jason I would love to hear more detail on the 300. so it has a 572 c.i. Is a chevy crate engine? 9.5 to 1 compression or the 720 hp 12to 1. or built from scratch. cab? blown? turbo? injected? if its a crate engine what did you guys have to do to it. what drive what ratio what prop. It sounds really cool.

The 300 looked sweet going across the water I was upset I didnt have my boat there but I did get it running today and I think there is a shootout on Ceasars Creek this weekend would love to see you guys from kunkel there

Kunkel's engine is custom built. No chevy 572 crate engine here. Not to mention he's running 1000+HP with a 1.5 ratio XR

The last time I spoke to Harold he told me the engine was never on a dyno. But the numbers don't lie, 107mph with that weight (5300Ibs) needs 1000+HP. My hull is wider, but lighter and I'm running over 1000HP on pump gas to get over 100mph. Kunkel has been running over 100mph for years and the outdrive height and prop is the key to dial her in. I'm still working on it.

Too bad I'm not closer. It would be awesome to get a shot of two checkmates passing a cat on both sides.

Hey Jason,

Congradulations on 107! You should post some pictures of the boat running.

What's the biggest power you and your dad have put in a 280ZT? MPH? How much faster do you think a ZT would be then a 300 (281) Convincor with the same power.

i have been about 3 times and a lot of fun
usually a couple 26 dcb cats there that run well over 130 intereting to watch
about three years ago one almost blew over
