You lost me man! That site is another forum and I could not find yours, but maybe the fact I looked for 5 minutes might answer that... Why don't you post the URL for the site where your images are located. It may be easier...

I am the one who knows all!
People are allowed to have favourites with out driving them. The 2002 Corvette is my favourite car and I have never driven one. Man your strange and screw off man, I think I saw that post post **** like 10 times. My favourite boat is the Pulsare, which I have driven if it makes you god damn happy!

I see my 2003 deck is different, does anyone know if the hull has changed at all? When did they change the deck?
Mike, what year did you say that was again, and great looking Mate, I have a ZT in production now.
I havn't got a straight answer either.. By what I've seen, it hasn't chnaged much...

Have you seen pics I havn't, nothing here shows the bottom, yet the deck on Mikes is obviously different than my 03 and the 2000 ZT 240 that is for sale.

My best bud has an 02 and vary little to no change on the bottom to most they would never see it. It has one vary small step, my 99 has one set his has two. I don't know if you would even call it a step, other than that it is the same hull from bump rail down.
Chris, thanks for getting my pic's on line I don't know why I'am having a hard time with this site no problem on others
Why doesn't someone call Checkmate or give them an e-mail asking what the changed in the last say 3-4 years for the ZT 240 is? Would sort all this out...

Hey Z06, this is a family site, please DO NOT swear..........

Z, was not that big of a deal, I was just curious and the different deck through me for a loop. The "rounded deck is the way the first ZT280 was made, now they have "hard" edges and now one of the Convicers has the round edges while the rest are hard. Sometime I can't figure those guys at Mate out. I thing they swap decks around to screw with us. Not really
I know... Its just getting to me because I now wonder what is the difference, and it will bug me until I don't... Odd... Sorry Jim.,..

By the way Mike, I like the picture of the two 240's on the trailers, it gives me a better perspective of what mine will look like. I have yet to see a ZT 240 in person. That is about the only Mate I have not seen in person, And I have driven just about everything they have made from 1980 to present and what do I do, buy the one I know nothing about!
I'll bet you'll get it working 110% within a very short time, that is, after you break it in. I like that picture too of them both, but I can't decide which one is better... http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

One thing for sure Bill, the 240ZT is a BIG hull. It's a LOT bigger than the 220. From 50 feet away, the 260 and 240 are very similar. I've been in a 240ZT. It's definitely big enough to use as a weekender. The engine compartment has plenty of room in it to store stuff next to the small block. Plenty of room for the ProCharger and intercooler.... http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Cool ,Thanks JW http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif The unknown is a little scary, especially with this kind of money.
Oh... a procharger is in the works when the warranty is up! http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
Biggest difference between the 240 and 260 is the 2' extra length of course, but the 240 also has less 'step' in the bottom. The 220 and 260 are newer designs, and have more step in the hull. At least they did up to this year, maybe right now brand new 2003 the 240ZT has more step than before. Not sure, but would doubt they've changed the bottom already. The 240 ZT has been out longer than the 220 ZT and 260 ZT, so that's why those bottoms have more step in them. The 240 is about the perfect sized big lake boat and river running boat. My buddy Checkmate243 is also working on moving into a 240ZT.
Never driven them myself, buy my local dealer describes more 'step' as slightly faster, with the disadvantage of lesser handling.
1995 2100BR/1995 225 Promax/23" Tempest
How longs the warranty? What other goodies you got for it?

When I went down to Mate last November, I saw the hull of a 240 which was a 2003 and there was no step, and that is from Kip's mouth, not just my eyes. Something I did not understand why, considering all of the others have at least a small step like you mentioned JW.
Warranty on the motor is one year, so as far as I am concerned, when the summer is over, the warranty is up. All of the dealers where I live tell me Merc is offering an extended warranty to dealers for free, but Rick said he does not know anything about it, so I will stick with the 1 year.
Even though the extended warrany is better, what do you want, speed, or extra time at lower speeds? I mean, most of us know what we are doing and those small things we can do. WHat else are you going to add to it besides a prochrager....

As far as the motor goes, that is it and actually, thaere are not alot of little things that can be done with the newer EFI motors. Offshore style boats is a completely different ball of wax than the smaller lighter outboards.
True enough. I still like my O/B's thank you. Now dropping some mega I/O into a Pulsare would be cool http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Too much weight for the back of the boat, I too am a diehard o/b fan
True. I bet if you were on a smaller lake/river, you'd have a Pulsare? I am just guessing because I would if I were you. 300X sounds right too... http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I would have the Pulsare if I wasn't taking it to big water so much, but I would have put a Mercury Racing 2.5 litre on the back.
Damnit that would fly. Would look like one hell of a boat. Get some flames on it and you'd be away of the races, literally... http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

After owning a Pulsare with a Mercury Performance motor, here are my wishes:
Unlimited funds: I'd get the Pulsare hull again for sure, but I'd get the new 250 Optimax for the back end. The increased gas mileage, with the quieter engine, would be PERFECT.

Each motor has pros/cons. What are they?
I feel the need for speed!
I chose the Merc racing 2.5 because of the higher hp nad oh that beautiful exhaust note!
Mike it is hard to tell from the pic, but is than an alpha hanging off of the back of his 240? what does he have in it and what numbers is he getting?
For speed, I'd get the 300X. For all around cool, the 250 XS would be nice. Anything to get it over 80 and still be a wicked ski boat!

Mike, I was looking at your friends 240 again and I have a suggestion for him. He need to move the boat forward on the trailer a coule of inches or so. See how your bunks stick out past the transom and his doesn't, yours is the proper set-up.
I looked at the pic too and noticed that as well. I found something else cool. Your trailer set up is right, but you have a Dodge, his is not good and he drives a GM Silverado it looks like. Its a tie... LOL http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The Chevy was SOLD gee and the Dodge is still as strong as ever. The drive is a bravo 1 on mine and his. Ya this hull is good in all kinds of water this boats been from the inland water way in Indian River, Mi to Lake Cumberland. My parents live on mullet lake the water way has a lot stronger water than cumberland, my dad always said read the water, you learn fast on these lakes. The boat handles 5 footers with no problem. This hull is no fun in flat water to stickey needs a chop. As for over night my family of 3 have no problem over nighting it on this boat I'am 6'4" tall and have no problem in the cabin, getting in can be hard.

Mike, I have been fasinated by the pics of your boat. Did you say you have Gaffrigs? If so, did they mount the pick-up for the sppedo off the transom. Man I hope not. I ordered the Gaffrigs in my 240, and I hope the pick-up is not mounted there. If I would have known that, I would have got the GPS Gaffrig speedo. Here on the river, there is too much stuff in the water to have that stuff hanging there.
If you wanted the speed to be accurate, why don't you just buy a GPS? Its a one time investment that you can use anywhere anytime and it has accurate speeds? Thats what I do...

Yeah... Why would people spend the money of the GPS Graffrig gauges and all these other fancy things when all you really need is a GPS handheld. An investment once, and it can be used anywhere. I did not say the Gaffrig speedo was not accurate, I said I did not want a pick-up screwed into the back of the boat. Mike, this question is a little off the subject of your 240, but, I noticed you have a fiberglass cap on your truck. I am thinking og getting one, and my question is, does it impare visibility at all when towing? Do you have any regrets with it?
Thanks!
Bill

Mike, I don't think Evan (disturbed) is going to have an event this year. He tunes in on occasion and we here from him at the shop, I'll let you know, or Evan will if he's still going through with it. I see your in Michigan, just a skip across the lake. We still are having our event here at Bayview, Shown n shine, anchorage, band, food, sounds like Kip and Bill will be here from Checkmate, possibly Mercury, talked to them, sounds positive, I'll keep everyone updated as things fall into place! Hey Bill, as for my buds boat he runs about 67-70 with the 496 HO, its not a mag it runs real well!!!!
Yeah, I used to have a cap on my '99 Silverado and it was fine. Didn't really hurt my visibility, other then the obvious because it is there. Makes your truck look cooler in my opinion. That and a set of mags is all you need http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Mike,
Is that GPS or speedo for you buddies boat? I was told I will see 65 GPS with the 6.2, 320hp motor and 23p mirage plus. I am going to start out with the 4 blade Bravo though and see how it does, then try a Mirage.

65 on a gps??? I have no idea, did Checkmate tell you that? The 496 runs 65 to 68 on gps depends on the water this hull needs a chop 3' is nice or more ya ya ya http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/bounce.gif http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/lol.gif
Bill C and Kip C. both told me that in the factory! I went with the motor choive by what they told me, I hope I am not dissapointed http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

When I think about a boat that size I think Big Block if I was to order one I would go with the 496ho mag 1st if the $$ were a problem 496ho but thats me
Thats why I put all the http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif's and http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif's. It would be great if there was the inboard version for it! It would make those boats fly... http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif

Mike, that was my thought too, big block, but Kip and Bill told me that that boat really likes the lighter small block and has a better weight distribution. Maybe that is the differance from what your buddy is running and what I was told, that 55 hp should be good normally for 3mph or so. We will just have to wait and see. Hopefully it won't be too slow, but I will live the boat anyway. Anyway, where I spend most of my time boating, you can't run wide open most of the time, too much traffic.

If those guys said that you should be fine that motor should be snapie small block and all. With the price of gas now it my be the perfect motor. That new motor puts out 10 more hp than my 454 mpi how about that. Once you get that new boat you will be hitting more water than just your local lake ever been to Lake Cumberland??? or LOTO if want good clean water come to Michigan to the Inland waterways (Indian River) or Torch Lake now thats clean lots of room for WOT http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif
Price of gas, that ain't the truth, I just paid almost 60 bucks to fill up my truck. Lake Cumberland, is that Kentucky? I have heard nothing but good things about Michigan and boating. Even Lake Michigan is so much nicer on that side of the pond compared to where I used to live on the West side of the Lake.

Yes it is, Cumberland is perfect for that boat ya I put $65 in my truck to, http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif can't wate for the price at the marinas this year
I can easily put 80 CAD in my truck on any given day. I have already put 120 bucks in it alone. I don't want to know what both will cost me!
