I was just thinking about this. If Chris had a good picture/symbol of the site, we could maybe get some decals made up that people could order from the person it charge. Anyone have any ideas. I mean its only if we get enough support. Its also if Chris has a good shot, like up at the top there. These would go great on all of your 'Mates or any other places... What ya'll think? Thanks for the feedback Z.

A number of people have silently offered to support the board in one way or another. And thank you to all of you!

I have also had some inquires from people if we have window stickers or shirts, cups etc.

Just recently I was talking with Yolie about opening a little Cafe shop where people could order a few items with our name or logo on it. Cafepress.com does such a thing for a few sites that I know and I have been considering giving it a try.

The idea would be that you could get an item with the logo on it and the profit made on it would help to support the board. As I said earlier, people have offered to donate money which is very much appreciated! I just don't feel right accepting it. And I really don't want to create a system of having memberships with special logos for donaters etc. To me everyone is a valued member whether you have 1000 posts, or just a few and I don't want to classify people by using special avatars etc. I just feel that creating "classes" of members is not the way I want to go.

So I guess the bottom line is that somewhere down the line I might create a Cafeshop with some items and if people want to donate something they can do it by buying a slightly overpriced shirt or mug or something. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks for the reply Chris. That would be pretty cool if you set something up like that. I was thinking about donating the site some money, for a few reasons; 1) I love this site and am here all the time, 2) I feel totally accepted by most members and appreciate it 3) Its just a whole bunch of great people taking about what we love.

Still, if anyone is thinking about getting some decals to support this site made up, contact me and maybe I will get a good deal on them because of a multi-order. This is, with the approval of Chris. I am still probably going to get some made up for myself, to show off my Checkmate-Boats.com spirit, again, whatever Chris says...

Z, save your money bro. I really appreciate your offer but I'd rather see you get yourself a little boat. When I was a lad, I had some seafleas and I had a blast with em. An older small 5-9 H.P. engine will get ya scooting along at a good clip. Skip Hagerman who is on the links page has some good links to some seaflea and boat building pages. As for the donation thing, I was really thinking of giving ya some. You deserve it for all the hard work you do to keep this up and running. Maybe I'll make it a surprise some time. I probably don't want to know how much it costs to keep this site up each month

I want my own little boat with something like a 40 man. I mean, if I did get the chance to get anything, I would not put the deal down. I have been saving a long time and have a fair bit of money lying around. My older bro and I are trying to find this old boat we were going to buy a long time ago but we sent it back. As for right now, we got a brand new (1996 but never fired up) 40 Mariner for our 14' Aluminum, and are just working on replacing most wood in the boat. Right now is the transom.

Thanks for everything here at Checkmate-Boats.com, I sincerely appreciate it. Also, special thanks to the Mods; Jim and Gus (...Maybe others) who keep the board tidy too. If there is anything I can do to help, keep me in mind. I would support you guys anyway possible. I can't wait to meet some of the people from the board in person, they might get a better understanding of who I am and then understand what I am trying to portray better. I am very passionate about what I do and own and because of that come across a little harsh on the board, but hopefully some have learned from what I have to say, and I have learnes from alot of the members. Many menbers helped me through a very difficult time with my wife this winter and I still get personal e-mails inquiring how she is doing, I thank you! Well... Keep it up Chris, Gus, and JW, pretty damn good, almost 300 members in less than 6 monthes! Thanks for a place to hang out!!!
