Vmax, we don't allow members to upload files to our servers. I gather your pics are not currently loaded somewhere on the net?

If that is the case, then email the pics to me in jpg format, and I'll get them posted for you. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

One just went on ebay a couple months ago for around $2000 with a Johnson 70 Stinger on it, it loooked fairly original and in good shape. Was probably quite a runner. It was in Chicago. If your scour the web, they're out there, but not many. You're in WA like I am, and most are in the Midwest, so you'd have to negotiate shipping.
I had one as a kid in '73, as many of my friends did. Mine had a Merc 20 and would run about 35mph. (I weighed a lot less back then!). They will actually plane with one adult with a 10hp.
With a 40, they will run in the low 40's, with a 50, they should crack 50mph. If you can find one of the originals (1970 model without the sculptured deck), they were a little lighter and so a couple mph faster. I've even seen one of those laid up 'light' by the factory, with center steering and no interior. It had a rating plate of 70 hp. on it! Was originally rigged for a Merc 80, some sort of drag-racer. I also saw a guy on the lake with an old Merc 700 6-cyl. on one. Crazy-looking, but the boat held it okay.

There were several designs of Playmates over the years. I like the Playmate model that looked like a mini off-shore boat. Gonna buy one some day and install a Stinger or 90 hp inline Merc http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif For the style of Playmate that I liked, you can also do a search for 'Paradise F-13'. Paradise got the molds for the Playmate and made them a few years. Now Paradise is belly-up.
