Hey Gang,
I added a few new things to the board.
Firstly, I added a small message system which displays different messages depending on the status of your membership. It's designed to help new members get signed up and going faster, and also encourage people who have never posted, or haven't posted for some time to join us.
As part of the message system, I've also added a new forum for members where they can introduce themselves. Basically the way it works is that it gives members who have never a message on the board a link to the Introduction Forum and encourages them to make a first post and say hello. There is also another message that encourages people who are lurking but haven't posted for some time to join the fun and post a message.
So for those of you who've been a member for years but don't post much, or perhaps do post a bit but just never really officially got around to introducing yourself, please drop into the Member Introductions forum and say hello! :thumb:

I also added an additional field in the member profile area where you can add the type of boat you own. And I hacked the program a bit, so that this field will show up in your "postbit" area, which is the area under your avatar where some of your other profile info is listed.
The path to this field is as follows
User CP> Edit Profile> Additional Options> Model Owned
If that doesn't make sense, here are detailed instructions on how to do it.
Enter Your Control Panel Area, you can access this area by clicking the "User CP" link on the board's navigation bar.
Once in your control panel area click "Edit Profile"
Then scroll down to the bottom of this area to where it says "Additional Options". In that area you should find a field that says "Model Owned". In this box fill, enter the model of boat you own and the click the button that says "save changes".
That's all there is to it. Now when you post, the model of boat you own will be displayed in your "postbit" area.
