Carpet replacement

OK , I got all the old carpet glue off . Do I precut the new carpet before gluing or glue it down and then cut it ? Just doing the floor piece .
It has stopped raining here , now if the temp. would climb above 60*.

as long as you get it done, does it really matter which way you do it?
If it were me, I would glue and then cut

I glued and cut as I went. The trick is to use like a 12" putty knife to jamb the carpet into corners and then cut. You get a straight cut and a good seem.
