I am looking to redo the carpet in my 88' Enchanter and was wondering if anyone had any tricks in removing the old carpet and glue or do I really need to worry to much about getting the old glue all the way out or can I just carpet and glue over it? If anyone has recarpeted there boats anytime recently please reply, any insight would be of great help! Thanks in advance....

Just replaced my carpet in the Predictor. The old carpet came out very easy. There was very little glue left on the floor and I just glued the new carpet right to it. Came out fine. I used the old carpet as a template to cut the new one which I would highly recommend. Best of luck. New carpet makes a world of difference.

:sssh: Non EPA approved removal procedure:Once you get the carpet up soak a clean rag in good ole 87 octane gasoline, quit smokin, unhook the battery and use a plastic scraper and it will get the glue up very easily. When I replaced the carpet on an old Invader boat I tried everything, Acetone, paint stripper, Tolulene, you name it I tried it. Went to a local boat fiberglass repair shop and they told be about using good ole 87 octane gasoline and a plastic scraper, the glue came right up. Oh and do this outside!! And use Adams advice on using the old carpet as a template.
