Hello,

Iwant to buy a pulsare 2100 BR and I think about a Mercury 275 Verado or the 250 XS/ 300 XS. Others option were the Yamaha Vmax 300 HP or Evinrude 250. Which one is the best for this boat? And how much cost it?

It's difficult for me, because in Germany is nobody who knows really Checkmate.

Thanks Stephan:confused:

I'm not sure what year they increased the HP rating. I know new ones HP rated at 300HP. I have a 2000 and it's only rated for 250HP. I suppose those tags on the boat are only a SUGGESTION ?

I think its everyone dream is to have a 2100 with a 300 on it, id say yamaha or merc. A good rule of thumb is take whatever they say is max hp and figure that the boat could be driven with that power by the average guy. Id like to think the guys in here can handle a little bit more then then the average guy. You almost never will get your self burnt on buying to much (within reason) but you can spend thousands trying chase the power you should of got in the first place. GO FOR THE 300!!!:thumb:

The E-Tec evinrude 225 would be my choice. not sure on cost, but you would save some money in the long run with the great gas mileage and low maitanence.
Dont get a Verado. at least I wouldnt. 4 strokes are heavy...
the 300 would obviously be fastest but uses alot of gas

I like mercury but with that being said I have been hearing so many good things about the yamaha and what surprises me more is better thing's about the 4 stroke is doing the same as 2 stroke for speed! In Canada a ruff rule of thumb is $1000.00 for every 10hp Minus a saving's for a package deal. I know when I was thinking of a new 150 hp it was going to be $13000.00 to $15000.00.

I have not heard good things about 4-strokes, good things = performance, even the new 275 hp turbo charged verado does not compete in performance and costs a but load.

The Verado is supercharged and there was a pulsare for sale with a 275 claiming 85+. And if you've never been in a boat with a Verado don't knock they're actually quite impressive. That being said The big Opti's will net you low to mid 70's with excellent milage a 300 or 300x gets you in the 90-100 mark Yamaha will probably get you about mid80's E-tecs are strong so far but have a very low rev limiter which will sacrifice some of the performance (speed) your looking for.
