Just bought my first Checkmate...03 ZT260.
What kind of speeds(GPS) am I going to be looking at with the 496Mag?
Any info about this is appreciated.

I never had stock power in my 260, but the stock ZT280 I was in ran 67 with 425Hp. So with 375HP you should see 67 on gps give or take. Bolt on mods should get you over 70 pretty easy. If you double your HP you will be closing in on 90mph.
Good luck with it!

ZT260...........What "bolt-ons" exactly are you talking about to get in the 70's with a stock ZT260 with a 496 mag?
Also.........anyone have a back to back "reliable info" on the difference .....if any.......in running the silent choice exhaust system vs the "non" silent choice exhaust system out the back. Hearing rumors the silent choice systems actually rob a few mph on top. Any truth to such?
I listen to what the voices inside my Checkmate Glove Box tell me to do.

Headers would be my first choice, then a computer reprogram.
The more HP you have the more silent choice hurts you. On a stock big block thru prop will cost you about 2mph, but if you flip the switch to thru transom you have lost nothing.
If your going for a race setup thru transom no mufflers will give you the speed you’re looking for.
Now if you have big power 700HP+ you can run silent choice, but not at full throttle. (Too much restriction thru the prop) At full throttle you must open the transom. If I cruise along at 60mph and flip the switch I see 2-3 mph.
Next year I plan to run 1000HP with silent choice, but I need larger than the 4" pipes that silent choice uses, so I may need CMI to build custom headers for me. It’s all still on the drawing board.
I’m all for silent choice, make noise when your flying low and you can still play the radio at the dock or cruising around.

There is a full test in www.boatsandplaces.com (http://www.boatsandplaces.com) (actually my boat in the test) Speedo indicated 74mph (67.5 on the GPS) but who cares, its plenty fast. Handles the rough water great and is fairly economical. I haven't yet attempted to hook the nose like my old pulse211 but I'll try that this summer. You'll love the boat... Only problems are the low windshield and tricky entry/exit off the front deck. The radio is in a stupid place below deck but
Hint... after a few hours of operation, go over all the clamps for the exhaust system they get lose and piss water inside the motor bay.
