Hi Gang! I've been a member on here for a couple of years, but thought it might be time to introduce myself in a more proper manner.
My name is Chris Riley, and I've been a life-long Checkmate man, all the way back to 1973 when my father brought home his MX-15 with a 115 Merc on it. This boat, with a two blade Michigan Speed Prop would run about 63 mph on the speedo with he and I in the boat.......real world, probably 55 or so, but still a thrill ride for a 9 year old kid!
We've since owned several other Mates, with the most recent being my 1990 Strobe. I bought the boat new, sold it, the re-purchased it a few years later. That hull still looks contemporary at any fuel dock or raft off party.
I recently took a position with BRP-Evinrude, and I'll be the district sales manager for them in North and South Carolina. I'm looking forward to running an E-Tec on a Checkmate hull as a demo boat, and hopefully in the not too distant future we will have an HP model that will look right at home on the transom of the Pulsare 2400.......:thumb:
In the meantime, if you have any questions about the new Evinrudes and E-Tec, feel free to ask and I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability. See you on the lake!
