Need new prop

I need a new prop. I have a 1979 trimate iv. The problem is I have the pre-alpha drive and can't seem to find a blade for it. Someone told me they are the same as alphas but i'm not sure. If that was true why do all the listings say 82 or 84 and up? please help.

See if someone will let you try a prop. even it it's just for fit.

The props will interchange as long as you use the correct thrust washer. The new style props with interchangeable hubs are the best, they will fit anything. boatman

Their are three different prop designs that Merc has made over the years. Old style, which had a tall thrust washer on it 1/2" hieght that fit fairly flush to the prop. Then they came out with the "new style" which will fit any mercuriser I, R, MR, or alpha drive. the thrust washer is much smaller and it rides more on the hub than the prop edge. then they came out with the flo torq hub set up which interchanges with anything. Flo torq is nice, it came out in 1996-97. i'm not sure what you would have but my first guess is the old style prop. take a picture of it with the thrust washer and post it - i can let you know for sure.
