removing a 70's mercury 150

I went to dealer today and bought the lifing eye so I can remove engine from boat. How do you disconnect the electrical plug at the engine? It is round and the wires sit in a hook on the outside of the lower unit. Does the round plug just pull straight out or do I rotate it and pull? What process do I use to remove the hydralic lines through the hull? Disconnect them at the pump?

Dave on the merc you just pull the plug, it connect's just like you trailer lights, push-pull, and the hydralic lines i'm thinking are for your trim, and you can disconnect at the motor, that way you can collect the juice that will flow out of it. Good luck.

Since I took everything out of my boat for the restoration here is what I did.
The plug you are talking about should just pull apart. I took a lot pf pictures of where wverthing was hooked up on the motor. I then drew a wire diagram of where verything was. The pulled all the wiring.
Disconect the trim hoses at the engine. There should be a through hull fitting of some kind, mine was in the splashwell. Take that loose and everything will come out.
