Anyone try to match the "Red" carpet used by Checkmate? I need about 6 feet of carpet for the area where I took the foam from, the cuddy.

I did a Google on "Marine Carpet" and found a lot of wholesalers. At least one that sends you samples. I think that it would cost no more then $150 to, 16 oz I think, to do the whole boat. Not sure if there's much difference in the carpet weights, I believe Checkmate uses the 20 oz carpet.

We sell carpet at our store, not marine mind you. We sell it for residential and commercial applications.

In our world......16 oz carpet is considered pretty cheap. It's not something we would sell to a customer unless they were looking for budget carpet. 20 oz is a bit better but not much. 28 oz or above is considered more of a quality product.

The other consideration to keep in mind, is that you will most likely be gluing this down I assume? So I would assume you won't be using underpad. Good underpad can make cheap carpet seem like much better carpet and will also make it last longer as it cushens the impact of walking on it. So since you'll be doing a direct glue down, I'd look for a quality product. If it were me, I'd look for a something like 40 oz. It will hold up a lot better and be much more comfortable. :thumb:

This is where I found a perfect match for my brown carpet and they were pretty reasonable. They have a good color assortment. They also sold directly to me.
